ULYSSES SIREN "Above The Ashes" CD Relentless
This band was formed in 1983 in San Francisco. This cd is the official release
of their '85 demo and '87 demo. Why these two demos remained almost unknown
until now is a mystery... And a big shame because at this time, ULYSSES SIREN
was a fantastic thrash metal band like EXODUS, METALLICA, FORBIDDEN, DEATH
ANGEL were... These two demos are the proof... The '85 demo has an obvious
EXODUS influence, but no copycats, the three tracks are total devastation...
The '87 demo delivers four killer songs too... This was the time where the
words THRASH and METAL had a plain meaning... This was a wild time of magic...
This was a time with bands playing high quality METAL music... But it was
also a time if you hadn't good promotion and features in the 'zines, your
band was condemned to ashes... Even if the seven tracks give a quite short
running time to this cd, this is an "album" as enjoyable as "Bonded By Blood",
"Kill 'Em All", "Forbidden Evil" or "The Ultra Violence"... Did you get the
