VIRGIN STEELE "Visions Of Eden" CD T&T/Sanctuary
Time for a new masterpiece of melodic epic metal. The wait was five years
for this Lilith Project - a barbaric romantic movie of the mind. VIRGIN STEELE
has stayed loyal to their roots plus the evolution factor. David Defeis is
an amazing song-writer. You need more than two or three listenings to understand
that album, as there is alot to discover. Really a metallic creativity at
its best. A lot of heaviness and speed is combined with a great amount of
melodies. I am never bored during these 79 minutes, because from the first
song to the last one, I am captivated by the magic, the excellent musicianship,
the creativity, the wonderful travel in a mythic era. Listen to pieces as
"Immortal I Stand", "Adorned With The Rising Cobra", "Black Light On Black",
or "Childslayer", that's unreal ! My only complaint is that the sound of the
guitars and the rhythmic section lacks a little of power. But that's really
a minor thing in this offering of brillant metal played by talented musicians.
More than 25 years in metal, and the band has always given the best for each
album. This one is no exception and has the capacity to gather people into
epic metal, power metal and even progressive metal. Awesome !
