• My name is Caroline, I was born in SE Houston and now live in Alvin TX. I started NEW ROCK REVIEW almost 10 years ago as a way to help out some local musician friends of mine. At the time I had only seen one zine, a very small xerox  newsletter from Oregon called FRESH LIXX. I started the zine as a 100 print - 10 page xerox and stapled at the corner newsletter. I had ten bands in the first issue. I had no idea how to get the word out about my zine, so I began sending them to people whose addresses I found in METAL EDGE magazine. Through the years I have seen hundreds of zines, and my own zine has been through many changes, from type writer and plain paper copier to high quality computer and newsprint. I try to get the zine out every couple months, but since I handle all the expenses and design, it sometimes takes much longer to get issues out.

• Some of my favorite bands include CONCRETE BLONDE (Johnette is a goddess from hell), KING'S X, THE CURE, ANI DiFRANCO,DISTURBED, A PERFECT CIRCLE, TOOL, EURYTHMICS, GODHEAD, URANIUM 235, SOUNDGARDEN, TORI AMOS, QUEENSRYCHE,PAT BENATAR, FAITH NO MORE, SEPULTURA, PLACEBO, STEVIE NICKS, ANNIE LENNOX, PINK, STIR, TONIC, PETER MURPHY, & so much more.  
• As far as TV shows go, I don't watch too much TV, but I do enjoy  watching  'X Files', 'Xena', 'Charmed', 'Popular', 'King Of The Hill', and  'Hercules'. Cool movies are 'Long Kiss Goodnight', 'Girl Interrupted', 'Rocky Horror Picture Show', 'Breakfast Club', 'Lake Placid', 'Friday', 'Rush Hour', '16 Candles', 'Pretty In Pink', 'Steel Magnolias', 'Jayne Eyre (old version)', 'Dark Crystal', 'Xanadu', 'Stir Of Echoes', 'Little Women' (old version), 'The Haunting' (old version more than the new), 'Romy And Michelle', 'Muriel's Wedding', 'The Exorcist', 'Color Purple', 'Sixth Sense', 'Beloved', 'Fifth Element', 'Matchmaker', 'Clay Pigeons', 'Truth About Cats and Dogs', etc... for hobbies, outside of NRR, I draw, write short stories, collect faerie figures, talk on the phone, and try and spend time with my many nieces and nephews -- as of October 2000, I have 17 nieces and nephews, 2 great nephews, and one great niece. The last three were all born in October.
