JUST WHO THE WILSON FAMILY?

Well, let me first introduce myself. I am Antonia and I am a mother of 2 beautiful girls, Brittany and Chyene, ages 11 and 7 respectively.  That handsome Prince in the picture is my husband Robb.  A bit about myself would be that I am college degreed in the field of Forensics, taking time off to see my children through their schooling. My husband is a dual-Bachelor's Major- Physics and Theatre, with a Minor in Math. I am a Secular Homeschooler, choosing to focus on the educational values of it rather than for religious values. We decided to homeschool because quite honestly, the public and private schools failed my children.  I just recently started, actually it is going on 4 years now. .  The schools my children attended, both private and public, turned out to be one in the same as far as teaching methods. The teachers had no clue how to educate a child, let alone handle a classroom of 30 students for 8 hours a day.  Let's just say that where my day was once rush, rush, rush, do this now, finish your homework, eat, bath and then bedtime; it is now something completely opposite.  We no longer rush to ANYthing and we take our time getting our work done, choosing to focus on mastery rather than "what the other sheep are doing".   My children are happier, friendlier-to each other even- and more outgoing now that I have them at home.  I am using Unit studies, currently using Learning Adventures.  The decision to homeschool was actually my husband and mothers. They  were all for it, completely and still to this day, participate in our schooling together.  My family supports me, my friends and neighbors too.  I can say, my life has greatly improved since starting.
