10 question interview with Matt DiFabio of SINGLE BULLET THEORY. 5/6/01-by Chris Lee

• 1. WHAT IS THE SINGLE BULLET THEORY LINEUP?
• SINGLE BULLET THEORY consists of Mark Shveima Jr. as the lead vocalist, Myself as well as Doug Rush on Guitar and back up vocals, Bill Mez plays bass and John sasso is the drummer. The line up has been the same for almost a year now.
• 2. GIVE A HISTORY OF THE BAND.
• SBT formed out of the ashes of CIPHER (Eclipse records) in January of 2000. The bands lineup has stayed the same with the exception of a bassist that couldn't make the professional grade and he was removed from the fold before anything substantial took place. The band has performed over 85 shows in the past year ad has become endorsed by 5 major companies. Aside from that, not much is happening.
• 3. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE SINGLE BULLET THEORY TO SOMEONE WHO IS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE BAND?
• 4. WHO DO YOU CONSIDER GUITAR INFLUENCES?
• Zakk Wylde, Dan Lorenzo (Hades / Non Fiction), John Perez (Solitude Aeturnus), Dan Rock and Brain Mcalpine (Psychotic Waltz), Rob Flynn (Machine Head)
• 5. SINGLE BULLET THEORY RELEASED A CD IN 2000 TITLED
• The CD has been selling very well at shows and such. It wasn't really sent out to many journalists however the few that were got excellent reviews. As far as IM concerned, its just our first offering and I feel it lacks a bit of the band energy and conviction that we have in our live set. Single Bullet Theory is a live band Bar None. Its going to take a hell of a producer to capture us on recorded media.
• 6. WHAT ARE YOUR UPCOMING RECORDING PLANS?
• Well, after this tour we are doing in May / June, We plan on getting together with Neil Kernon. He is the man for the job as far as we are concerned. We will most likely do a 5 or 6 song EP to shop to a few labels that are interested in us now. The recording will hopefully be taking place in October or November. Its tough because we have to juggle it financially and still be able to do small tours.
• 7. TOURING WISE WHAT DO YOU HAVE LINED UP?
• As I mentioned earlier, we go out in may and June for three and a half weeks. We hit like 24 cities in 26 days. This tour is just a small headlining tour. We really want to go out and open for a bigger artist as touring on our own is ROUGH. This will be our third trek across the USA. Its cool since we really look forward to hitting the mid west and such. Texas is great. we get to see some nice country on this tour so IM sure well enjoy it. Its much easier now going out in a tour bus as opposed to a 10 passenger van with a trailer.
• 8. SINGLE BULLET THEORY GETS ASKED TO DO A FOUR BAND TOUR PACKAGE AND ALSO PICK THE OTHER THREE BANDS. WHO ARE THE OTHER THREE BANDS PICKED?
• This is an easy question. NEVERMORE, PSYCHOTIC WALTZ, and STRAPPING YOUNG LAD.

• 9. WHAT DO YOU HOPE SEE ACCOMPLISHED FOR SINGLE BULLET THEORY BY THE END OF THE YEAR?
• Wed like to get a decent indie record deal. We've been out here busting our asses 100% hard-core for the last year. We are basically setting the ground work down for any label who wants a hard working band that can offer to a label as much as a label can offer a band. Also, id like to see us get asked to do some of the European festivals next summer.
• 10. ANY FINAL COMMENTS?
• Its time for the fans of the metal genre to hear the sound of a Single Bullet. Thanks for the interview.
