Thought Riot, None More Black, Against Me!, Rise Against, and Anti Flag

Well, I arrived too late to catch Thought Riot or None More Black who I absloutly adore. I was a huge Kid Dynamite fan so None More Black was a band that I welcomed into my heart openly. I got in the door to catch the last 30 seconds of their last song. BOO! So needless to say I was disappointed about that.

AGAINST ME!
Against Me! is one of my favorite bands. They just released their latest full length a couple weeks ago, though different from their preious release it still rocks. There have been rumors floating around the message boards that their new label (Fat) will not let them play songs from previous releases (those not on Fat), well it is not true. They only played songs off of Reinventing Axl Rose and As the Eternal Cowboy. I can`t remember the exact set list but some noteable songs were "Baby I`m an Anarchist," "those anarcho punx are mysterious," and "Pints of Guiness Make you Strong." They blated onto stage and just, once again, put me in awe of how awesome they all are as performers. The new cd is different from the music that I fell in love with and seeing some of the new songs performed live made me respect them more. They played about a 40 minute set, not long enough in my opinion. The crowd was pretty into them which rocked pretty hard. The sound was a whole lot better then when I saw them at the Drop- In Center in Santa Cruz, so that was pretty rad. This was the first time seeing them at a "big" venue and it also cost me three times as much as it did previously. One thing I must say I love about this band is how they have kept things "real." They`re merch is still incredibly inexpensive (unless you buy their cd at Rasputin`s- cost me $14- most I have paid for a cd in quite a while). So, overall, they rocked so hard. I was so excited and they met and surpassed all expectations I had for them.

Rise Against:
This was my first time seeing Rise Against. Their CD is really good so I was looking foward to seeing them. I got a weird vibe from them, I can`t really pinpoint what it was. They played almost everything off of revolutions per minute, which I didn`t mind because I like that cd a lot. They had a lot of energy and the crowd loved them. I thought that the crowd response would have been more for Against me! then Rise Against but it was the other way around. They were really good and thats all I really have to say.

I only stayed for a few songs by Anti Flag, I`m not really a big fan. They had a lot of energy and everyone seemed to love them.
