A static lullaby, Lawrence arms, these arms are snakes, and hot water music
The edge, palo alto

Well, after waiting out in the FREEZIN cold for a year, it was nice to get inside the actual club and outta the cold ass elements. I think the show was overpriced ($12) and the security was wack. 1st of all, they patted everyone down and checks purses and shit like it was the fuckin airport, all they were missing were metal detectors and those wavy wand thingys. Anywho, after we finally got in, we were dismayed to realize that we had missed ‘these arms are snakes’ as The Lawrence Arms were playing right in front of us.
I’d never seen The Lawrence Arms before, and haven’t heard much of them more than a few songs off various compilations, but I was impressed. I totally dig the singer’s raspy voice goin on and he seems to really get into the music with his movement. I think everyone was kinda down on energy and there was a weird vibe going on, but regardless, The Lawrence Arms rocked with fat mike and his wife watching from the side of the stage. Definitely go see them if ya get a chance.
A Static Lullabywas up next. They rocked hardcore as well. I think they had more energy and the crowd was definitely into them tonite. I think it’s awesome that they bring the same energy to a show despite having been on tour, I know they must be beat after a long time on the road. All the screaming was a little much for me, but I might just be being a wuss because I’ve been sick lately. I think that maybe if he screamed a bit less, I would like it more. That aside, they totally rocked my socks and I’m sure their loyal fan base who came out as well. Starting with the first song, a mosh pit started that didn’t end for the rest of the set. I plan to see them again when they come back to town and hopefully I’ll enjoy a longer set.
We ended up leaving after them because we were both tired as I had worked and jen had driven more than an hour as well as the weird vibes that were going around. Don’t you hate that?? I do. Shit. I enjoyed what I did see of the show and the only letbacks were the cost and the power-trippin security guards. Lay off those stereroids, man.
I’m off like a prom dress,
