Just done with a stroll through QSF and Moderator Actions. Every post from Mandy seems filled with contempt for the TrekBBS staff. "She" has to chime in on virtually any thread that even hints of criticism at a mod/admin. I don't recall seeing too much if anything from "her" in any other forum. Does "she" remind you of anyone at all? Might do well to keep an eye on that one.

I'm pretty sure she's someone we know. But defining exactly who, and proving it... **sigh**[This message has been edited by RevdKathy (edited February 07, 2002).]

Mandy started about the same time I did. I remember seeing her/him/it in the LD. But I dont ever remember seeing her after that....FWIW[This message has been edited by Jethro Elvis (edited February 07, 2002).]

It's quite interesting the way she argued with Slarus though...

Note this from this thread: http://trekbbs.com/ubb/Forum13/HTML/004035.html quote: No. They're already falling to pieces. The fish rots from the head.
Someone pointed out that a while back, Indi used this very saying. Coincidence I hope. But it made me think. And I didn't like thinking that it could be him.

I noticed that, too, but I don't think indi has a reason to use a dual at this point.

Is there any particular reason why we need to prove anything before banning them? Just curious.

Because the entire frikkin' TK would fall over our heads, ask for your, mine, and Bonz's resignation, start daily threads until Mandy was unbanned, and, if that weren't enough, the Che Daily would start gearing up again - and that's something I don't want to see in my mailbox right now. Of course, my definition of 'proving' isn't the same as Merriam-Webster's - I think a dual username has been proven to be one when the user says that the name is a dual. For example, "Who I am? You just try to figure that out." I would convene with the other Musketeers though.

I think you overestimate the power of the kids at TK. Let them start their threads. They are easy enough to ignore.

Interestingly, over at TK, Executor hypothesises that Mandy may be Daystrom, which was my first guess. On the other hand, with Mandy out on a 24 hour ban, Mary_Rocks_Canada has made a reappearance...I could go bananas on this game. I give up

I can go either way (meaning Zun's suggestion, or just letting Mandy accumulate warnings on its own).

^ agreed. Whoever is behind the name, that particular post scores bonus point in my book for most snide remarks with least valuable content.

I'm not headhunting on this, I just wanted to see if anyone else was suspicious or if I'd already lost what little is left of my mind.Since I have Che's email addy blocked, I not too concerned about the Daily anyore. However, as unconcerned as I am about TK's opinions of this board or its staff, I certainly wouldn't want to make more work and create ore headaches for the adins here. To that end, perhaps letting Mandy accumulate enough warnings is the way to go. As annoying as "her" snide comments are, they don't exactly darken the skies over my head, not enough to toss out the policy and go medieval on the warnings.

LOL. you mean you don't LIKE his love notes? I'll get ones begging me to help some TK cause, then when I log into TK, he'll be slamming my ass for something. Something just ain't right with that boy! **wanders off muttering about her name getting dragged in yet again. **

So? Either it's the right thing to do or it isn't. Che can kiss my ass.

Why is ONLY my name italicized? Trying to get rid of me WS? Do you REALLY want to do my letters?

^ Because you were the only one referred to by name. I'f I'm doing a quote where you're referred to as T'Bonz, I'll distinguish it in the quoted text as T'Bonz so that it doesn't mess up the rest of the bold lettering but still retains the modicum of respect requested in the bbs etiquette. Now, if you're referred to not by name, but by pronoun like "you" or by some other term of affection like "bitch" then I wouldn't bother italicizing.

Well, the last time we banned somebody without proof it was the Mister Capps affair. I know I'm not eager to go there again. Despite, of course, the fact that I know without a shadow of a doubt that the right people were banned for this infraction.
