AS of what I heard, these guys are one of the most hard working people in the Cavite ug scene, they are both are involved in 2 bands and as you will know in reading this interview that Cris also has a printed zine. Ian has preferred to answer some of the questions in our language so I have provided a rough translation of it after his original answer.. so Read on & support!!! Thanks to all!!! 01. How are you Chris?! It is you who will answer this right? How's life in Cavite, the job, the family etc...? Criscarcass: We are all fine down here. me & iancrust (gtr/vox) jam twice in 1 week whenever we have time to do so. 'bout our job., well i'm doing well here in the municipality of maragondon cavite, where I work as a clerk/utility personnel. its hard work especially if your salary is you know "below the belt!". me & my wife & our repective relatives are A-OK thank u. by the way Iancrust is studying takin up "seaman" course in naic cavite were he is enrolled at present. he'll be graduating this march, '05. "If he isn't too shy to ans. your queries he'll does! he he he he. INSANITY is me & ian. we're a duo now., since finding a bassist here is ver very difficult. we're only gonna hire 1 during live performance only. 02. Why INSANITY? Do you feel insane or what? What's your reason for using it as a moniker for the band?
03. INSANITY is formerly LORD CAIPHAS? I only heard Lord Caiphas from NBZ compilation although I have heard more about the band, anyway, from DOOM to GRIND? What's the main reason for a change in musical direction? Criscarcass: Yup! we're formerly L.C. its just a side project before (as i've said, Insanity). I only do that so that I could concentrate on other, creative ideas that I cannot put on L.C. but when things are getting gloomer on the L.C. campdue to different priorities of other members like., job, families etc....i suddenly shift 2 this band to allow other member from L.C. to have sometime to themselves, but unfortunately we disbanded after 3 years & so i focus on Insanity or D.O.D. before. 04. Who are the members of LC who are now part of Insanity? Are you still in good terms to other members of LC? Criscarcass: Basically & honestly i'm the only one left here from the L.C. camp. I'm con't what they have abondoned with musically (through Insanity) yes we are all in good terms, who knows one of this day L.C. might come back to the scene. even if it has different members I like to see the Lord rises again. We're heavily into: ozzy / sabbath/ acidbath / Nov Doom / crowbar / danzig. & ow the mighty dahong palay. I've been pushing Bhon, our former bassist / lyricist to come back but all failed too due to family matter esp. now that he's married with. Bryan my grt / voc. is busy looking for jobs. but sometimes he appear to jam with us whenever he has time. i think me & him will only be the ones left if ever we're gonna re-formed L.C. again. 05. Let's talk more about Insanity, Who are the influences that made you form this Grind Band? What is the high that you get out of it? Criscarcass: My influences Roy are more of the real! ug hordes like Nasum, Mortician, Demisor, Impetigo, Virus, Lock-up, Goreface, Mixomatosis, Genital Penetralia, Brutal Truth & other bands that plays other forms of ug shits. i like the unheard type of band alot esp those raw 80's vibe type. Iancrust: Impetigo, Demisor, Nasum & Lock-up. 06. Your demo is named "Human Molestation", have you ever molested a human either dead or alive? Have you ever been molested? Do you hate people who molest other people? Criscarcass: Nope! I haven't molested anyone. i hate molesters. those scumbags must be dealt with harshly & without mercy! kill everyone of em burn their body until all is left is ashes! so you molesters out therebe prepared 'coz your daysare coming fast & short motherfuckers!! This molesters rapist/maniak who takes advantages of women, their penis must be pricked with needles, then cut, chopped to pieces. and kill every fucking GAY!!.... galit din ako sa mga bakla. kaya tama lang yon! "Kill em' All"... 07. Your musick is a real molestation to the ears! I'm not saying it's bad but I mean it's real filthy grind!!! Anyway, recently I have this pattern of dissecting the tracks of bands I interview & I'm gonna do the same to you! Criscarcass: Inflicted is about the daily shits, we encountered in our surroundings. what we feel, see & do (that affect us in somesort or forms) like massive killings, misery, in ourselves, suicide, murder, corruption (in this shit country). all of this we inflicted in our selves & to others w/o knowing it. it can also inflict you! he he he he b.) ISTAMBAY, this is our Philippine language meaning 'vagrant' or those people just standing by the streets mostly doing nothing if not shitty & illegal things. From the lyrics its like you hate them? Iancrust: OO galit ako sa kanila. kahit na tambay din ako, di ba "ang magnanakaw galit sa kapwa magnanakaw!". Ganoon din yon ang tambay galit sa kawa tambay! he....he....he....(Trans: Yes I hate them. Although I also a tambay, doesn't "thieves hate their fellow thieves!", it's the same shit, tambay hates fellow tambay! he....he....he....) c.) INUKIT SA LAMAN, another Philippine language meaning 'Curved inFlesh'. Oh, DECEASED has a track in their new album having the same title name right? The lyrics here is a bit cryptic & abstract, to be literal with the lyrics it about desecration of the corpse, what is it really about? Criscarcass: Yes i'm aware of that deceased tunes. but i did not ripped em off its all about molesting a corpse to be used by student taking up medicine. to study, they buy it illegally w/o the knowledge of the dead's family. And for me i think its a violation for the dead's hapless family victims. those people making money out of it must be punished by the law itself. but unfortunately the law in this country is stupid! "Don't make the dead haunts you!"....uts true!!.. d.) SULFURIC RAGE is again a bit abstract as the literal meaning doesn't quite connect me, the only thing I could think of is it's about drugs? Criscarcass: its about killing, genocide & siucide. or an uncontrollable anger that is boiling in your mind waiting to burst like a bomb! something like that. like a muriatic acid that metls everything. e.) Now. MENTALLY DERANGED, what's this all about? Is this on a first person point of view? Criscarcass: its basically the insanity being comitted by a particular person. you know, those psychotic jerks around us. those serial killers, for an example. 08. How long did you worked on this demo, from the start when with lyrics up till the recording? How many did you sent out? How do you do you feel about the outcome? Criscarcass: We rehearsed for it for, about a month or two, i think. i basically wrote the words while ian & former bassist lheo adds the riffs & chords, as well as the vocal duties to it. we've sent 18 copies of it to friends & some zines out there locally. i only pressed 25 copies of it to be given to, anyone who'll ask for it so that we may know peoples reaction to our work be it good or bad reactions. it's like "fuck it man, if its lofi shit!., but we gotta push it no matter what to be heard". we're not some ROCKSTAR! band out there trying to impress anyone with good 'Ol decency work. im proud of that shit 'coz its our work & sweat.... Iancrust: Mga isang buwan din namin ginawa yon. yung ingay na yon., 18 copies pa lang ang naipamimigay namin, at kahit singko wala pa kami kinita doon. "yan ang real UG!" nd k2lad ng iba dyan n pa-impress epek pa!, KUPAW* n man!" (Trans: About 1 month we did all that, all that noise. We've only sent out 18 copies & we didn't profited from it even 5 cents. "That's the real UG!" not like the others there who are a show off, but a KUPAW* | * KUPAW - Loosely related to KUPAL? Exact meaning in English is abstract 'coz this is a 'street' language but the meaning is not good! he he he ) 09. I also lived in Cavite but I'm an outsider, are you a real local there? I've heard there's a healthy scene there, what can you say about it? Criscarcass: Yes we are all residence here in Maragondon Cavite. Weve all grow up here & born with. So we're true bloodied Caviteno. Bout the scene here, it truly is healthy. lots of ug band here like imus & dasma like; nuclear punishment, censorshit, YXFXCX, discontento, fall children, h.f.b., half the battle, etc.... in naic only toxemia and the defunct a.f.m. here in maragondon only us Insanity and my side project band, septic sewer (whose members others are from manila) & ohhh, my defunct doom band lord caiphas. Iancrust: OO dito ako pinanganak, dito ako lumaki at dito na rin ako mamamatay. Tungkol sa mga scene (ug) dito isa lang ang masasabi ko "ASTIG!" (Trans: Yes i am born here & I grew up here & I will die here. About the scene (ug) here I can only say one thing "DRAH!") 10. Tell us the bands to look out for from Cavite? I know Roel of Tripalium & Corix the drunk of No Bullshit Zine, I'll bet you know them too? Any other zine actively supporting the scene there? Criscarcass: There are no active zine here only impaled zine (mine) & nbzine of corix from naic. yes I know roel his a good friends of ours. bout the bands here i think you should check out nuclear punishment, cavite's answer to cannibal corpse meets s.o.d., discontento, brutal gore grind death & yfc noisecore / crust shit & sex pistol immitators the one & only censorshit. also check out state of calamity Oi / streetpunk / crust, the badtrips... Iancrust: Si corix? oo kilala ko siya. kasama ko siya sa Toxemia. siya kumuha sa akin para mag drums sa toxemia. dalawa lang naman ang bandang sumosoporta dito sa mga ug gigs eh, ang insanity at toxemia. ( Trans: Who corix? yes I know him. we are both in Toxemia. He took me to play drums in toxemia. Only 2 bands support the ug gigs here, that's Insanity & toxemia. ) 11. Oh, and you also do a zine? What do you call your zine & how many issues have you released so far? What is your zine all about, punk, metal? Criscarcass: My zine is called impaled zine. I deal just about anything ug. but I prepare most is doomdeath / stonerrock / hardrock & some gothmetal. slowblackdoom & other depressive psychedelic forms of shit. Issue now is 6th. newsletter. I reduce it due to financial strains. 12. Speaking of drunk, do you drink? When was the last time you got wasted? Most drunkards there will drink anything, so, any type of alcohol you dread to drink again & why?
Criscarcass: only beer. just a little bit 5 bottles only?.... 13. Corix e-mailed some info about a Cavite Metal Fest in your own place, Maragondon. You will play in that gig right? By the time you answer this it is probably over, so, how was it? Many bands are in the line-up, did every one showed up? How about the metal fans?? Iancrust: Hindi ko na alam kung sino-sinong banda ang tumogtog dito. Basta ang alam ko naging masaya ako at astig ang naging tugtugan namin., kahit may mga sabit. kc lasing na lasing na ko nung time na yun....(Trans: I can't remember who are bands who played. All I know is I was happy & our set was great even with some shit 'coz iwas so drunk at that time... ) Criscarcass: some appeared on the bill. others did not make it due to some reason. some back out coz the place is very very far from 'em..few metal but lots of punk / hc metal fans that appearded with 250+ crowds in attendances here from different provinces and manila areas. it turn out good, even if we fuck up in our set due to drunkness & shits & despite bad relationship with the PA crew, coz of lackness of foods here. It all turn out good its the 2nd time here to have such an event. not bad 4 21 bands that come here to played with different genres actually.. its good to see kids are enjoying & to those who do not know the real ug scene. i'll be there exposure to be familiarized in this kind of an event, to show support & be one with the damned! he he he he...... 14. Hey, you mentioned that you are also part of the working class & married, so how do you cut it having bands & actively living a metal life? Criscarcass: Its hard being a married man. You should know how to manage time, bet. anything you do & work with. 15. Does your family support you for what you do? Don't they tell you that you are insane for spending much money & time to all these? Criscarcass: Honestly my parents in general doesn't support me on this as well as our relatives! I keep it a secret doing this coz to 'em this kind of thing is non-sense, but for me it is not. I've lived to it (this) a long time ago & i'm determine to continue this. its hard coz there's no earning in this kind of job. My wife is the only one who understand this. Iancryst: Oo sinussuportahan ako ng magulang ko. dito nga kami sa kwarto ko nag-papractice. At Oo nasabihan na ako ng magulang ko na "sira ulo!" at pati mga kapitbahay namin galit sa akin pero wala ako pakialam dahil masaya ako sa ganitong buhay. (Trans: Yes my parents support me. Actually we are all here in my room practicing. And yes they have told me I am "Insane!" and even my neighbors are angry with me but I don't give a shit coz I'm happy in my way of life.) 16. You do have another band project right? Tell us more about it? Do they have different members? Different metal genre?? Criscarcass: Yes I do., its SEPTIC SEWER. We play gore / grind shit. composed of nikos-gtr (valenzuaela city, mla) & kittin-Vokillist from laguna who is an ex-Mordor vox. a black metal band from cavite city. while nikos is from a band name Redstar from his area. a dark metal band now defunct! Our first live appearance is at Cavite assault fest pt.2 here last Jan.29, 05. Iancrust: Oo meron (din) Toxemia. Have you ever pondered where you have been with out the music & lifestyle & state of mind that you have today? Was there a change in your point of view since you started living underground? Criscarcass: I can't live without this shit. coz for me its not just a life style anymore but a way of life already!. (its in the blood he he he he....) like you my friend he he he he..... Iancrust: Parte na ng buhay ko ito. at hindi na mawawala sa akin ito. Kahit napag tatawanan na ako ng mga kaibigan kong walang alam sa ganitong tugtugan. Paminsan minsan nilalayuan na ako ng tao kapag nalalaman nila kung anong klase tugtugan ang gusto ko. (Trans: This is part of my life. And it will never be lost. Tell us what INSANITY is up to for the first quarter of 2005? Any plans in the near future? Criscarcass: Release another DIY rec. support the real ug local scene & to con't everything thatthe band has started before. stay true to our roots no matter what. coz the THREAT is still eminent. 19. "FUCK all the fuck'in morons, liars go to hell, Ripped Off the one & the re-recorded version of "TAMBAY"... others are; mangagantso, poser fucker, Kreation from the abyss & Pot'llicious!! and the band is currently w/o rehearsal for 2 months now since their last appearance on Jan, 29,05 cavite assault fest pt 2 be back on track very soon..... (or by next next months to come!) the threat is still EMINENT!

That name just pop-up in my mind. we're D.O.D. before or, Diocese Of Darkness.
We play absolutely deathrock tunes (like carcasshas started before. you know the
"deathrock trends". since nobody here in this country is doing it. i
dopt it to my band). & that I like Carcass "room 101" tunes, that
is were it all started for in the beginning of., the bands pre-incarnation. co'z
at first this band was only a side project i never thought i'll grow like this
despite several member changes..and I thought INSANITY is cool. It fits us! he
he he he ....insane fucker's!!.
