1. | Format your music .:.

Check to see what format your music is in
Take your selected music and check to see what format it is in. If you don't know how to check the format, do this: right click on the music icon, and then a box will pop up, then click on properties. In the general tab, it will tell you the name of your song, and underneath that it will tell you the type. The type will be the format your song is in. It should say wav or mp3 or midi. If it happens to say wav, then you are all set to go to the second part of our tutorial, if it does not then you will need to convert your song to wav. Now this is where your music match will come into play!
Using Music Match to convert your music to wav format
Open up your music match, once opened go to file located at the top of the menu. It will look like this:
*notice* file is highlighted in yellow
Once you click on the file, a box will come up and then you want to click on convert. Now another box will pop up, this is where you will convert your mp3 to wav. It will look like this:
*notice* important words higlighted in yellow and red.
I did this so that you can refer back to this image when these things will be discussed.
At top you will notice a source directory (meaning where you can browse and locate where your music has been stored on your computer) and destination directory (meaning where you will put your new converted music to wav) *note* I usually make a folder for my converted to wav music in it's own folder so that I won't be confused with my mp3 from my wav. Now you want to go ahead and browse in the source directory for your wav, then in the destination directory browse to open up the folder you would like for that new converted wav to go in, once you have done that then you need to change the source data (located at the bottom of the screen in the source directory) Change it to say Mp3. Next you will need to change the destination data type (located at the bottom of the screen in the destination directory) Change it to say Wav. Now it's time to select the music that you want to convert, you can click on the select all or you can just select one or more rather than all. To select more than just one without selecting all, first click on one of the music and then hold down your ctrl button on your keyboard and highlight the ones you want to convert. Then release your ctrl button once done. Next step CONVERT! *YAY*!!! Now just click on the start button located at the bottom right hand side. A box will come up and start converting. This may take a little while, depending on how many mp3's you are converting. Once that is done, then that is that! You are now ready to encode your wav to a real audio file! Move on to the next link below for the encoding tutorial:
Music Match is a great tool! There are so many amazing things that it can do that I have not inlcuded in this tutorial. Play around with it some, also to get a better understanding what all Music Match has to offer, click on the help button (located at the top of the menu) then click on the tutorial button. It will direct you to their help page which will explain these things. *note* you will want to be connected to the internet when doing this.
