Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s StoneStarring: Daniel Radcliff and Richard Harris
Well, I saw the movie before I read the book, but actually the movie was basically exactly the same as the book. Well except for a few lines that were slightly different, and one of the teacher’s hair was a different color, but that’s about it. The movie “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was exactly how the author J.K. Rowling described everything in her book. But if you haven’t read the book, you’ll be perfectly fine! It’s not one of those movies where you’re better off reading the book to understand what is going on. Actually, the movie just makes the book come to life, and doesn’t really add or take away anything from the story.

Anyway, the movie doesn’t really have any greatly known actors, but they are really good! They did a great job in the movie. The movie is a about a kid named Harry Potter(Daniel Radcliff) who gets put with mean relatives because his parents(who were magicians) were killed by an evil wizard. Then when he grows up he is sent to wizarding school. A lot of the movie is about the wizarding school called Hogwarts and how Harry and his new friends get through the year there. Then throughout the movie there is talk about the evil wizard and Harry discovers his past. I think this is a great movie, and there is a lot more to it than what I said, but you have to go see it!

“Rush Hour 2”Starring: Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker
This is such a great movie! Actually I think this one is better than the first one. It’s about two cops(Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker) who at the beginning were arguing and Lee(Jackie Chan) ends up thinking Carter(Chris Tucker) is dead. But then he shows up again and they go after a guy from Lee’s past who killed his father. Then they have this secret agent women who they can never tell if she is an ally or not, but she helps them quite a bit. Plus, the girl from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" makes an appearance. Also, at the beginning, there is a scene where Chris Tucker starts singing to Michael Jackson, which I thought was funny, and he was doing the impression at a Chinese bar or club. They were all looking at him funny lol. Again, there is a lot more to this movie, than what I’m saying, but it’s a good movie and you should rent it!

“Jurassic Park 3” Starring: Sam Neil, Tea Lioni, and William H. Macy
Okay, all I’m going to say is that this is an action packed movie, with great effects, and suspenseful scenes. The only reason that it is missing a star is because Tea Lioni didn’t die. She was so annoying in the movie(and in life)!! Okay, Sam Neil, the scientist from the first Jurassic Park movie gets conned into going to a second island that was made into a dinosaur habitat by two parents(William H. Macy and Her…uh…I mean Tea Lioni) who lost their son in the island. Well, a word better than conned is kidnapped lol. Anyway, Tea Lioni’s an idiot and their bit of trouble with the dinosaurs are when Lioni screams into a speaker thing trying to find her son, which of course, gett he dinosaurs attention and they get attacked. Then a helper of the scientist steals two raptor eggs, and the raptors are chasing them throughout the whole movie. I would recommend this movie to anyone and you should rent it or buy it. But if you are looking for a movie where Tea Lioni gets eaten alive, then my friend, this is not the movie for you. I repeat, NOT the movie for you. You will be very, VERY disappointed.

“28 Days”Starring: Sandra Bullock
Yeah I know the movie is kind of old, but oh well. It’s a good movie, based on the message it sends, but the movie isn’t very interesting. The first part of the movie wasn’t that interesting, and I kept waiting for it to get better, but unfortunately it never did. It was entertaining in a few parts, but I don’t think it’s one of Sandra Bullock’s better movies. It’s about a lady(Sandra Bullock) who has a drinking problem and a drug problem, but she doesn’t think she does. She is sent to a mental retreat place where she is forced into getting out of her addiction. She meets a famous baseball player there who becomes her love interest, but he can't really overcome his addiction and her roommate dies(I think or at least comes close to it)because of her addiction. Those things help her on her way to recovery. Like I said, the movie wasn’t that interesting, so there is not much to say about it. I don’t think it is such a great movie to buy, but it is a good movie to rent if you have the time and are bored.

“Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring” Starring: Elijah Wood, Sir Ian McKellen, and Liv Tyler
This was such a good movie! I haven’t read any of the books that go along with the movie, but the movie alone is great. All of the effects are really cool and everything is put together to make everything look believable. It’s about a hobbit that gets ownership of an evil ring and he is sent on a quest to destroy it and nine other creatures go along with him to help. There are Orcs and Ringwraiths that are after the hobbit named Frodo, who are trying to get the ring from him all throughout his journey. The only thing I didn’t like about this movie is the ending, because it just leaves you hanging and you want to know what happens next. But see, that’s the thing about this movie, there is going to be three Lord of the Rings movies, so we won’t get to find out the end until the third one is made. All I can say is that I can’t wait until the next movie comes because this one was so cool and I want to see what happens(unfortunately, I’m not very patient and I’ll probably end up reading the books lol). So, my advice is, go see this movie now!!

"Meet the Parents"Starring: Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro
All right, I was not very happy with this movie. I didn't really find it funny. I mean, some parts were, but by half way through the movie, I didn't find anything funny anymore and I started feeling sorry for Ben Stiller. Well...here's what happened. Ben Stiller is in love with this girl and then he decides to go and ask her dad if he can marry her. So he goes with his girlfriend to her parent's house and right from the start, her father(Robert De Niro) is against Stiller. Stiller has all the best intentions, but things keep going wrong and De Niro keeps twisting things around and making them seem different from what really happened. By the end everyone thinks Stiller is this terrible person and everyone ends up hating him. But the movie does end up having a happy ending. This just wasn't a very good movie in my opinion and I don't think many people should rent it unless they are really dying to.

The Wedding PlannerStarring: Jennifer Lopez
This movie was okay, but it's not enough for me to see it again or anything. There is this wedding planner (Lopez) who can create the perfect weddings for everyone, but she doesn't even have a boyfriend. Her father tries to set her up with this other guy who wasa friend of hers a long time ago, but she doesn't like him. Then she meets this guy who saved her from being run over and they get a chemistry going. Unfortunately, he is the boyfriend of her next client and she has to make a wedding for them without letting her feelings get in the way. I didn't really think the storyline was all that great, and the movie was kind of boring. But of course, I don't really like romance movies, so that might be why. It's just really a bland movie. There's not too many funny parts, and not too many really good parts, but I admit there are some. But overall, I didn't like it. So, I advise anyone to do what I did: Only rent it because you are bored and have nothing better to do.

“Collateral Damage” Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger
This movie is one of the ones that were postponed because of the September 11th attacks. Remember I was mad about it? I still am. This was such a good movie! I’m going to warn you right now, I’m going to give away a lot. Okay, Arnold is a fireman and he goes to pick up his wife and kid at an outside restaurant and as he gets there, he sees a cop, then just as he’s waving to his wife and kid, a bomb goes off behind them and they are killed. The bomb came from the cop’s motorcycle, so that means he wasn’t really a cop. The cop ends up being a Colombian terrorist, getting payback for all the innocent murders that the United States inflicted on Colombia. So he sends tapes in warning of another attack and tells the United States to get out of Colombia. Then there’s this stupid guy, I don’t even remember what he is, but he works for the government. He’s a jerk and doesn’t want to take the people out of Colombia and he gets taken off of his case in Colombia, but he keeps working on it anyway. So Arnold realizes that he saw the cop’s face and he goes to help the government catch the terrorist. No one wants to actually do anything, so Arnold decides to go to Colombia himself to avenge his family’s death. He saves this lady’s life once he gets to Colombia, and he meets her again once he gets to the terrorist camp. Okay, for people who don’t want to know more, I’ll end it here, but anyone who wants to know the rest or at least a lot more than what I said, keep reading. It was a really good movie, there are some twists in it, and it’s so cool! Okay, now stop reading, because I’m going to continue…..Okay, now for the rest of you, Arnold gets imprisoned in the terrorist camp and he learns some stuff about the terrorist and his wife, who incidentally is the lady he saved. The wife ends up helping Arnold and he agrees to protect her because she decides to foil her husband’s next attack. They go back to the U.S. and I’ll leave the rest to you, because there is still more, and I know this is probably what you don’t want to know. Stop reading here is you don’t want to know about the final outcome because I’m going to rant now, and I will imply the ending. My rant is about how mad I am that they didn’t show this earlier…….Okay, I’m so mad that they didn’t show this earlier because everything turns out okay in the end! The fireman still saves the day and everything works out! The building that was bomb wasn’t even that important. The one that was going to was I think important, but still, I think they should have showed it earlier. Yes, I know it has a terrorist similar to bin Laden in it, and a building was bombed, but still I think they should have showed it. The reason why I say that is because if they would have showed it, instead of making people mad, I think it would have encouraged them to have faith in firemen and our country. I’m going to be shot for saying this, but if people don’t want to see it, they shouldn’t go and watch it. I think the best thing to have done is tell people that the movie might be graphic for some people and that if they are too emotional at the moment because of the attacks, don’t go see it. Personally, as you all know, I would have liked to see it earlier. Even now, people who are still in emotional shock and going crazy because they have seen the attack too many times on TV, probably shouldn’t see the movie because they will either need to be sent to an institution, or they will be crying their eyes out. New York people shouldn’t go see it, you should probably wait a while longer. But the rest of us who aren’t afraid of a good movie, I think you all should see it. As I said, everything turned out well, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the movie and I don’t think anyone who sees the movie will be crying their eyes out, but hey, if you’re weak, your weak (by weak I mean emotional). Okay, I’m done now, go see it!!!

“John Q.” Starring: Denzel Washington
This was a really good movie too. It is about a father (Denzel) whose son needs a heart transplant. He and his wife don’t make a lot of money, don’t have very much saved, and his insurance changed and now he can’t afford the hospital bill. So he sells a lot of the things in he and his wife’s house in order to pay a $75,000 down payment for the transplant, but according to the head of the board of the hospital, that only covers the amount to put their son on the donation list. They need to raise up $250,000 total in order for the surgery, and they know they can’t. The hospital won’t take John’s (Denzel) word about being able to pay them back, and so he loses his mind and takes some hostages and barricades himself in the hospital in order to negotiate with the police to get his son’s name on the donation list. By the way, the hospital got the money, but decided not to put the kid on the list. All John want’s is for his son to be able to live and be able to get some health care, even though they don’t have any money and I totally agree. So John has his hostages and the police are trying to find a way to get him to let the hostages go, and this idiot police chief messes things up. Well, maybe I should stop here now… lol. Anyway, this is a really good movie and I agree completely with it; there were people outside the hospital routing for John and what he was doing, because they are mad about him not being able to get help for his sick kid. The movie brings in an interesting issue about how hospitals won’t take you or help you if you don’t have money or insurance because it does happen in today’s society and it’s wrong. People shouldn’t be left to die just because they don’t have money. All in all, I give this movie 4 stars, and go see it!
