Maintenance and Waterseal:
There are many types of outdoor structures made of pressure treated pine. Decks, patios, gazebos, fences, sheds, and furniture are all treated pine products. Although protected with a 20 year warranty against wood rot and insect infestation all treated pine structures are subject to the weathering affects of nature.
  The application of a quality waterseal will ensure the longevity of the playset. One waterseal treatment will not last the life of the set. To relax the effects of weather and aging a quality waterseal should be applied every (1-3) years. AMERICAN PLAYSCAPES can apply the first waterseal treatment for an additional charge.
Locknuts and heavy bolts are used in the construction of the playsystems. This greatly minimizes the need to retighten the set. However, the properties of shrinking and swelling wood can change the fit and appearance of the components. A periodic inspection and maintenance program is required. If necessary retighten any lose bolts so that they are firmly against the wood without crushing. Inspect for any damaged hardware and sand any rough surface. Seasonal checks  are natural characteristics of wood and are excluded from warranty. With proper care the AMERICAN PLAYSCAPES playset will provide each family with many years of safe play.
