Shel Silverstein brought color to my darkest night,
From a book that's written all in black and white.

This book was newly released when I first learned to read and I've been reading it over and over ever since! It's been nearly 30 years now!  Shel has written many other books, as well, and they have been used in schools since before I could even read.  Where the Sidewalk Ends brings so much color to the world for a book done completely in black and white.
