Hi Doc;

Just a note to wish you well!

I had planned to write sooner but shortly after you left I left the company and am now working in the S-2 section, 1st BDE in Phuoc Vihn. The job is not near as good as the company, but I feel it was best for me and the Company. Losing so many good men on 11 April had a bad effect on me, so I think the change was necessary. I requested your address shortly after the change, but I received it only today --

My two minor wounds are A.O.K -- my tail wound got infected which called for 3 weeks of daily visits to the Doctor - Ya see I was doing OK as long as you were taking care of me. But when you left I had another wire stretch working its way out and it sure gave me trouble. -- Going to the doctor every day was more painful than when I got shot ---- I think I was so busy at that time I don't remember!

The main purpose for writing this other than wishing you well is to say that you were nothing less than outstanding in your duties as a medic, and head medic - never once did a man get hit that you were not on the way to help him, always disregarding your own personal safety -- It was a tremendous assistance to me to know that I had someone I could count on to take care of my wounded men and I know the men appreicated it -- If there is ever anything I can do to help you in any way, please don't hesitate

[line cut off]

Again, Thanks and good luck in the future.
