April 11th Memorial Fund...

John Seville, a Charlie Company brother, has suggested that the association (if we start one) or some reasonable delegate (if we don't start an association) collect donations for a floral dedication fund for the Charlie Company men who died on April 11, 1966.

I think its a good idea, and would like to second the motion, with a slight twist.

In addition to honoring the brave men who died on April 11, '66 I think we should honor each month's fallen with an arrangement of flowers.

John says the park service will see that the arrangement is laid in front of the panel containing the names of the dead. We could designate a single fallen trooper from a particular month as the honoree for that month, and have the arrangement put before that panel.

We would still honor April 11, '66, seperately, but we would also honor the other fallen from Charlie Company.

from John Seville... I don't know how you find the time, or how you do it. "The Charlie Co.", April Memorial web site is another outstanding, and loving tribute to all the fallen brothers of "Charlie Co."

As I was thinking about it almost all day yesterday, I had another thought about the floral arrangements that we could send to the "Wall", if the brothers are in agreement. I think the amounts of monies to be donated should be in any amounts, and anonymously given, if that is the wishes of the doner. Also we have friends in the Washington DC, area who might want to give us a hand, or maybe one of our own might live in the area. Mick Daley, Col. Ret., who on the night of April 11th, was at Brigade Hgts., monitoring the radio traffic. He came over on the Gordon to Vietnam with us. He was Alpha Company Commander at Ft. Riley, then when we got to Camp Stranger he worked on the Battalion Staff, he's a good friend of "Charlie Co." Just some rambling thoughts that you might want to hear about.

Again, with great admiration and respect, thanks for remembering us.

God Bless, John Seville -- C/2/16 -- Sept. 64 - Apr.66
