Ottawa PugNic - Sunday, May 26th, 2002 More than seventy pugs were in attendance. We now know of *74* pugs who came out to play on an overcast - but not rainy - day. 66 names were entered in the registry book, and then we remembered 4 more who didn't sign-in. Others have been e-mailing since. There may even be more. Here are the names we have.... PugNic Veterans China, Tiberius, Samson, Dalilah, Millie, Higgins, Elvis, Lulu, Bonnie and Buster, Wilbur, Starina, Jodi, Zooma and Dallas, Yoda of Nepean, Onslow, Digby and Barnaby, Indy, Scotia, Moonchie and Chelsea, and Majere Newbies Regis, Everton, Yoda of Ottawa, Moxie, Milo, Stella, Bailey, Gia, Spark, Obi, Tyson, Napoleon and Josephine, Heidi, Leonard, Beatrix and Wilhelmina, Silky, Charly, Wrinkles, Bella Starlette, Diezel, Desi, Daisy, Keiko, Abby, Sunny, Mika, Riley, Griffon, Oscar of Ottawa, Kela, Winnie, Maggie, Zoe, Sookie, Luna, Diego, Yoda of Kanata, Dag, Benny and Moses. We don't have a picture of Dag, sorry to say. Senior Pug: Wrinkles, 11 years old. May all our pugs enjoy the lovely grey whisker look! Travelling Pug: Oscar of Bolton, north of Toronto. Most PugNics: China the Pug. Has attended all 5 PugNic events since our inauguaration last year AND is the only pug in town with her own driver's license. (Tiberius has also been at each event but alas, has no driver's license.) * This event has almost quadrupled in size in just one year. The turn-out is approaching the proportions of the Chicago Pug Crawl. We'll be re-thinking, re-organizing and re-structuring the event after today to maintain the spirit of joyful pugness we established last year. As it was, despite almost 4 times as many pugs, we maintained our safety record - 0 accidents, 0 fights, 0 close calls. Bravo! to all the pugs and all the owners. Now, we will work to preserve the spirit and original intentions of the Ottawa PugNic. What worked fine for 20 pugs wasn't entirely suitable for close to 80. Several veterans have volunteered assisstance for the next PugNic. Another way to have input is to join the Message Board at our Yahoo club. Thanks to You can get in touch with them [ here ] is scheduled for Sunday, September 29th We may be moving to another venue For the Ottawa PugNic site menu, with links to past events and the Message Board, [ click here ] Don't forget to [ sign our Guestbook ].
