Carvings by Kent McBride are made from pine, cedar, butternut, and basswood, but mostly from basswood. The carvings range in size from as small as three inches to as large as 12 inches tall. Many items are "life size." An experienced craftsman, McBride prefers doing wildlife art since most of his life has been involved with the creatures of the wild.
