He leaned over, and brushed a strand of brown hair out of her eyes. Her face was warm, and it warmed his heart. He kissed her forehead gently, and walked downstairs. They were staying at Justin's girlfriend's house. They had just got home from touring, and if had felt good to sleep in.
When he reached the kitchen, he smiled at the sight of Denise and Justin standing there, fixing theirselves a bowl of cereal. They had been going out for almost three months, and it was a shock to Jc.
Most of the relationships that Justin were in lasted maybe a month at the most. But, somehow, Denise and him had made it through longer. Justin had shocked a lot of people by totally commiting to her.
Jc owed a lot to Justin. He had been the one to introduce Whitney to him, and he never thought there would be a way to repay him for bringing her into his life.
After watching the couple for a few more minutes, he slowly walked into the kitchen, and poured himself a glass of orange juice. Denise looked over at him, while Justin just grunted. He wasn't a morning person, and judging from the look of his face, he hadn't had very much sleep last night. And, he knew why. It was the same reason that he hadn't got much sleep. They had been away for the past month, and they had missed out on a lot of "quality time". And, both couples had tried to make up for it last night.
"So, um, Justin, what's wrong their buddy, you look like you've had maybe two hours of sleep," Joey said, as he entered the kitchen as well.
Justin flipped him the middle finger and went back to his cereal. Everyone knew that you didn't mess with him in the morning, but sometimes they couldn't resist it.
Denise shook her head, and also went back t her cereal. Slowly, the other guys made their way into the room, along with Lance's girlfriend, Stephanie.
Whitney still hadn't come down, but he figured that she was still tired.
The silence was killing him, so he decided to speak up. "What are we going to do today, you guys?"
Everyone turned to look at him, but shrugged their shoulders. "Thanks, that was a lot of help."
"What was a lot of help?"
Jc turned to see Whitney standing in the door in her pjs and he smiled. "Nothing, shorty."
She glared at him, and walked to the refrigerator. "Denise, do you have any eggs?"
Denise laughed. "UM, well you might be able to find some in there."
"Thanks, I just had a craving for eggs."
Chris turned to look at Whitney, and an evil smile turned on his lips. "What have you and Jc been doing? Hasn't anyone told you two about safe sex." He turned to Jc, and shook his head. "Man, you just had to go and give her a little Jc didn't you?"
Everyone laughed, and Jc couldn't help but smile. "Well, Chris..I guess one of us has to get enough for the both of us."
Joey snickered, and hit Chris on the back. "Man, he got you there."
Chris rolled his eyes, and shot Joey a bored look. "Oh yeah, that was real funny."
Everyone was laughing and having a good time, but one person in the room. She was held back. She had only known the guys for three months, whereas Stephanie had known Joey, and hooked up with Lance. They had been dating for the past year, and their relationship was strong.
She turned her attention to Whitney. Her and Justin had been friends for a very long time, and he had been the one to hook her up with Jc. Sometimes Denise wondered if Justin had feelings for her, but she would just push those thoughts to coming from insecurity.
Who wouldn't be insecure? She was dating one of the most wanted men in the country, and she had her doubts when it came to how long and strong their relationship was. Justin's voice brought her back into reality.
"Denise?"
"I was just asking you if you had any suggestions on what we could do today?"
"Um, well I don't really care...we could go play laser tag!"
"YES!" Chris exclaimed, and everyone jumped at the sudden outburst from him.
Whitney couldn't hold her laughter in. Chris was grown up, but there were his moments when he acted like a four year old, and that's what had made Whitney like him. He wasn't afraid to speak his mind, and he was always there when you needed to be cheered up. True, he loved to joke around, but if the situation was serious, he was sure to be there for you. "Chris, honey, its ok..I mean..we want you to be alive when we go. Don't have a heartattack on us there, Gramps."
He turned to face Jc and smiled. "You better tell your girl here to watch her mouth. I can make her regret those words."
Jc was about to respond, when Justin spoke up. "Now, Chris think about it. If you do something to her, you have to not only deal with Jc, but you have to deal with me."
Whitney turned to look at Justin, and she had to laugh at how he was trying to act tough. Her attention shifted to Denise, and her eyes narrowed. She was looking at Jc, and in Whitney's opinion, that shouldn't be happening. But, the moment that Whitney had looked at her, she had looked away.
The guys left the kitchen, along with Denise, to go get ready, but Stephanie and Whitney hung back.
"Whitney...what's wrong?"
Whitney just shrugged. There was no reason to suspect anything, so she just dropped it. "Nothing. I'm just tired."
Stephanie laughed. "Yeah, and we ALL know why!"
"WHAT! Hey, we couldn't be that loud!" Both girls giggled, and walked out to get ready for the day ahead.
"Chris, stop it! You can't follow me around and shot only me!" Whitney exclaimed, as she tried to hide from Chris and his laser.
He laughed. "Hey, I had to get you back somehow, and hey it's helping me win the game."
She dodged behind a wall, and bumped into someone. She turned, and saw Curly hair, and had to smile. Running into Justin wasn't that much help, considering they were on the same team.
"Well..well..if it isn't my so called best friend."
Whitney swatted at him, and then turned to shoot Joey when he passed by. "Yeah, I thought I'd come and cover your ass."
He laughed. "Girl, you know I'm the best at this game."
She snickered. "Aren't you always claiming to be the best at every game?"
He turned to look at her, but she had already left. He smiled. The two of them were two much alike. He thought about going to find her, and making her pay for her comment, but then he saw Denise. She was on the opposite team, and he knew a way to get an easy point.
He walked up to him, and grabbed her by the waist. She knew who it was, so she didn't struggle. When he had her behind a wall, he pressed her up against it, and laid his lips on hers. In the meantime, he pointed his gun at her target and shot. As soon as the point registered, he left her.
Her grin was something she couldn't stop from forming. He could do that to her any time that he wanted to. She had no objections.
The game ended a little later, and Whitney's team had won. She walked over to Chris and smiled sweetly.
"You know Gramps, you're getting too old to play this stuff."
He lunged at her, and she took off running. She saw Jc, and ran behind him. Chris stopped in front of him, and smiled.
"Man, you're girlfriend is meaner than I thought."
Jc slipped his hand to where he could reach hers, and they joined. He winked at Chris, and pulled her around, so that she was standing in front of him. He wrapped his arms around her to not make his movements suspicious.
"Chris, I have to agree with you. She does need to calm that mouth of hers."
Jc grabbed her arms, and Chris walked up and starting tickling her. Whitney's laughter rang out through the place, and Justin turned to look at her. He snickered, and smiled when Denise walked over to him, and stood in front of him.
He thought that it was just to talk to him, but in fact it had been because she couldn't stand the fact of him looking at Whitney. She knew that it was stupid, and she didn't have a problem with Whitney. She had been nice to her from the beginning, but it just bothered her sometimes the way that Justin would look at her, or how he could talk to her about anything. She knew that would come all in time, but until it came...she was going to do everything she could to put some space between the two of them.
