I awakened to find myself lying on an immense satin fabric bed in a magnificent room. The giant sheet that covered me was a beautiful color of burgundy and lined with velvet. I could see such beautiful holsters and drapery on the walls. What a wondrous site it was! How beautiful! Even from the dimness of the room I could still see the beautiful tapestry hanging on the wall. The painting was of a beautiful woman, with such distinct features. The light blue eyes, the white skin, the supple breasts, all very beautiful. She was wearing a beautiful dress, a dress fit for a queen. Her hair was of golden color that fell down to her half exposed breasts. As I looked around I tried to move but found that I couldn't. I felt so weak; I couldn't bring myself to even sit up.

The door opened.

He stalked around the room paying no attention to anything in particular. He glanced at the painting and then looked at my direction. His wicked green eyes stared into mine. As I looked into them I could only see pain, nothing more.

"I trust you had a good rest," he whispered to me gently.

I wanted to say something back at him but I couldn't find the words to. I stared at him quietly, caught in his spell.

"Have no fear," he smirked, "I have no intent on hurting you. However..." he glanced to his side as if looking at someone or something to approach, "I don't know about my young one." At those words someone from the shadows quietly approached, standing next to Trowa.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing before my eyes. It was my master, Quatre. He looked pale and tired. He looked extremely like Trowa. Same white skin, same piercing eyes, although blue but it was no mistake. They both had that same look among them. I couldn't quite describe it, and then it occurred to me, THEY'RE DEAD! I was horrified at the site before me. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. What's going on? What's happening?

Through the panic that suddenly came into me I silently muttered, "Quatre?"

My young master glanced at me, looking curious and determined. He smirked, "What is it Duo? It's just me, your master, Quatre, remember?"

"N--n-no... it isn't you," I protested. "You're not my master. YOU'RE NOT QUATRE!" I hissed.

"Oh, but I am Duo," he stepped towards me. "What is wrong with you, Duo? Tell me. Tell your master what is the problem and I'll make it go away."

"NO!" I yelled, still unable to move. "S-stay back! I don't know what's going on but stay back!"

Quatre moved in closer to my side and sat beside me. He brushed his hand through my hair, trying to calm me down.

He looked into my eyes and tried to keep me still. "Sshhh," he whispered. "Calm down, Duo. It's all right. I won't hurt you."

I tried to move away but I couldn't. I couldn't move my body away from his comfortable touch. His soft fingers brushing my hair away from my eyes, the gentle touch of his skin against mine. He placed his hand on my cheek and looked into my eyes.

He leaned forward and whispered in my ear, "What do you want, Duo?"

I didn't know what he meant by that question. I only knew that this whole scene was disturbing. I didn't know what it was. It was confusing. I ignored the question and glanced around the room, terrified of what might happen to me. What they might do to me. I really wasn't sure. It seemed like a horrible nightmare, but I couldn't bring myself to wake up. Or was I even sleeping? I don't know. There was nothing but silence in the room. I didn't know how to answer him. Didn't know the proper words to form.

Trowa stepped forward leaning down next to the bed. He stood next to Quatre without making a sound. With his milky white hand, he brushed Quatre's delicate blonde hair. Quatre didn't look to be aware of what he was doing. His eyes never looked away from mine. His quiet stare burned me. I couldn't understand what was happening. Confused, I softly whispered, "Where am I?"

Quatre looked at me so innocently and he answered, "You need not be worried about that now, Duo. You're safe here with us. Don't be alarmed, we're not here to hurt you." He glanced up at his companion and smiled, suddenly aware of his presence. He looked at me again and said, "You must be tired now. Maybe you should rest some more. We'll talk again tomorrow night. Now sleep," he leaned forward and gently pressed his lips to my forehead and gently grabbed Trowa's hand, slowly walking out of the room. I could hear the lock click and turn from the door. I was trapped again. Trapped and alone. Without even realizing I felt more tired and weak and I closed my eyes. I buried my face in the pillows and slept.

When I awoke again, I felt stronger than I was the night before. I didn't feel as weak and helpless. The room was still dim; only one candle brightened its surrounding areas. I got off the bed and walked to the door. I suddenly realized that I was dressed in a nightgown that was not my own. I looked around for my garments with no success of finding them; even my boots were gone. I turned the knob of the door and pushed the massive wood ahead. To my surprise it was open. I stepped into a narrow hallway. The hallway was completely black, only the light from my candle illuminated it. I went back to get the single candle and proceeded to find a way out. As I walked down the hallway I saw magnificent paintings of long ago artists on the walls. One painting was of a fallen angel, the scenery black as the hall, black clouds encircling the fallen angel with the black wings. And surrounding the angel were pieces of bones of humans scattered to the ground. The fallen angel pictured had a face of a handsome young boy, looking up into the dark heavens. His face looked familiar, it seemed that the boy were alive. And it suddenly occurred to me, the painting was of Trowa! It was beautiful. He was beautiful. There was a signature on the bottom in the old Latin. I could clearly translate it to: Devil God, My Savior. And on the right was the name, Trowa. Dated 1413. I was astonished at the painting and at the same time afraid. If that painting was true, then that meant that the Trowa that is now is over two hundred years old. But who painted this masterpiece?

I was fearful of this new revelation. I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. I dropped the candle to the floor, making the light burn out, and ran, ran in the darkness. I had no light to guide me, no way of knowing which direction I was headed. I just ran out of fear, fear of the darkness, fear of the night, fear of my master and his companion. With no light to guide me in the darkness I raised my hands in front of me as I blind man would do. I felt around for a door, an entrance, an exit whatever I could find. But found nothing in the darkness. I felt so alone, my heart beating so fast, out of panic. I felt as if I were to die right then and there. Then, I saw a speckle of light coming from a door on the left corner of my eye. I walked towards it, not caring of what was behind it. Only knowing that I didn't want to be alone in the dark. I opened the door and walked into the room. Gasping for breath, I could barely see the face of my master. He was alone and was reading next to the fireplace. He was sitting on a luxury seat made of leather. Without looking up at me he asked softly, "How are you feeling, Duo?"

I didn't say anything for a long moment then I asked him, "Master... what happened to you, Master?"

He put his book aside and looked at me. He didn't say anything then. I could hear the crackle of the fire. He whispered to me again, "How do you feel?"

I yielded to his question and gently said, "I'm fine, Master. But tell me, what happened to you?"

He gestured for me to take the empty seat beside him. I hesitated but obeyed. My heart began to soften its' pace once more. I looked at him and as I patiently waited for an answer. He looked at me and said, "I've become a being exceeding that of humans. Don't worry my dear, Duo I'm still me. I'm still the same master that you love so much. Now enough of that, you look famished. What would you like to eat?"

I stared at him even more confused. He seemed so calm, so nonchalant about this. I didn't answer him.

He smiled at me, trying to show me that there was no harm. He said, "Come now, Duo. I tell you the truth- I mean you no harm. No harm shall ever come to you. I will never allow it. Now, join me for dinner will you?"

I couldn't find the words to say anything. I just stared at him dazed and confused.

He took a candleholder from the wall and gestured for me to follow him. I did as he commanded and followed him into an enormous dining hall; complete with the most expensive china I had ever seen. He placed the candle on the table and picked up a small bell and wrung it. At once, two maids came in. Quatre waved his hand and they were gone again as if it was a command to bring in the food. And they did just that. They came in with plates full of delicious cooking. I could smell the delicious aroma of the chicken.

"I believe these éclairs are your favorite?" Quatre pointed to it.

I sat beside him, next to the foot of the long table. I ate the treats before me like an orphan who just found a slice of bread. I was hungrier than I thought I would be. I looked up at my master and saw that he was looking at me devouring the food. He was resting on his elbows with his hands interlocked and rested his head on them. He looked at me in delight. I noticed that he didn't have anything on his plate.

He looked at me and answered my unsaid question, "Forgive me, I don't feel that hungry tonight. But you have whatever you like."

I nodded and continued to satisfy my hunger, for I somehow knew that this might me my last meal.

“Tonight is a new night,” replied the cheerful Quatre, “Be assured that you are well rested, for we might well be on our way very soon again. You will come with us won’t you?” He looked at Duo.

Duo sat next to the window of the carriage looking at the vast countryside. He turned to see his master looking at him in concern. “Yes?” He asked.

“It seems that you are not in this state. Well never mind that. Let’s just go shall we?” He smiled adoringly at his young one.

Duo nodded politely and returned to the scenery. It was dark, as any night would be. Yet, tonight, in his eyes the night seemed different. It seemed clearer, more beautiful. Everything around him seemed to have a translucent glow to it. Almost shining brightly from the dim light of the moon. Even the color of the evergreen was illuminated in the dark night. The night seemed brighter, more alive. He never felt this new wave of ecstasy heightened to the fullest of its extent. He didn’t know what sort of powers he beheld. And to what extent? He really didn’t know.
