March 10, 2001 Gatlinburg was our last stop on the way home. After a long, busy, tiring week in Florida, the last thing we needed in the middle of the night on the way home was a tourist trap! But here we were on the main strip in Gatlinburg gawking at all the strange sites and businesses begging for our money. We wouldn't let Bessie do anything fun and she was not happy. She tried to drag us into the Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, housing aquatic life from around the world. What a cow would want to do with 10,000 square feet of aquatic life is beyound me. Instead we walked the strip and Bessie, in an act of defiance, jumped into the arms of this menacing bear. Well, as menacing as a bear can be when it is holding onto a camera. After our stroll, we ate a late dinner, got back in the car and completed our journey home.
