July 21, 2002 Pittsburgh was supposed to be a quick stop. We were just driving by and Bessie, who for a while was a Steeler fan (OK, a Terry Bradshaw fan) really wanted to see the city. Anyhow, we were driving by Pittsburgh, so we decided to get off the freeway for a quick visit. Bessie enjoyed the skyline, as these pictures indicate, but otherwise is was a pretty frightening city. It was just that we couldn't find our way back out. There were freeways everywhere, but we could not find a way to get on any of them. And nothing was marked. We almost gave up and started looking for a place to live. Luckily, Bessie's "cow instincts" led us back to safety.
