Here are some wonderful craft and art ideas. If you have some you want to contribute please email me As the New Year and the Winter weather approaches I decided to add some great activities for you do with your little ones!Have a Happy Holiday Season
****WREATH ORNAMENTS****
materials: Cereal boxes, tempra paint, ribbon, puzzle pieces, red construction paper, paper punch and glue.
Simply a wonderful idea, first start off Take a lid of a tupperware container and trace the circles on the inside of cereal boxes, with a small circle opening in the middle to represent a wreath. Then have your children glue on small puzzle pieces in any arrangement being sure to cover the cardboard. When the glue dries have your children paint green! When the paint dries punch out circles from red construction paper and add to the wreath to make holley! Add ribbon and you are done and have a wonderful christmas ornament!!!!
****Picture Frame Oranaments****
materials:Popsicle sticks, hot glue gun, tempra paint, pictures of children, glitter and sequins to decorate.
This is a wonderful project for the kids and the parents alike! The kids will have fun decorating this and the parents will have a memory to keep with them year round! First using a hot glue gun make a frame out of popsicle sticks I usually make mine 3 sticks wide so they can decorate. Next take individual pictures of your children. Then let the children decorate their frame with paint and glitter how ever they want! And finally glue on the picture to the back and you may want to add the date "2000" in tempra paint on the front! This is fast and easy and the kids will have fun getting messy!
****HANDPRINT CHRISTMAS TREE****
materials:White Poster Board, green tempra paint, red tempra paint, brown tempra paint and paint brushes.
This is so easy and they turn out so beautiful! Take your children hands and paint them with green tempra paint make four green hand prints all in a row about 3/4 down on the white paper. On top of that row add a row of three green hand prints, and then a row of two, and then a row of one. Now you have a Christmas tree, add a red star and a brown trunk and you have a beautiful Christmas tree of hand prints!
