There are four things you must know before you can be saved:
1.
YOU ARE A SINNER.
Romans 3:10:
"There is none righteous, no not one."
Romans 3:23: "For
all have sinned and come short of the glory of
God."
This is the first thing you must agree with before you can be
saved. In the garden of Eden, the first sin was committed and from
that time until now we, all humans have inherited a sin nature
from Adam. Why do you think it's so easy for children to tell lies
to take things that aren't theirs, even at such a young age? Sin
nature! The Bible clearly states that we are all sinners, and on
the point we must agree.
2.
GOD HAS PLACED A PRICE ON YOUR SIN.
Romans 6:23a: "For
the wages of sin is death..."
Luke 16:23:
"And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in
torments..."
With anything in life, everything comes with a price. As a
child when we decide to steal that first piece of candy, there was
a price to be paid. Just with our sin, there is a price that needs
to be paid. The Bible says that that price is death spent in hell.
Sounds pretty scary huh?
3.
JESUS DIED TO PAY THE PRICE FOR YOUR SINS AND OFFERS SALVATION TO
YOU AS A FREE GIFT.
Romans 5:8:
"But God commended his love toward us, in that while we were yet
sinners, Christ
died for us."
Romans 6:23b:
"...but the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord."
This is the best point of all. Jesus the sinless son of God and
God himself, looked down from heaven and seen that we had no hope
of heaven, and that being sinners we deserved to die. But... Jesus
loving us when we didn't love him, decided that He would die in
our place, to pay of debt of death for us, and He did. God offers
us the free gift of having that penalty of death put onto Jesus'
account, if we will except what Jesus did on the cross for us, our
debt can be transferred.
4.
YOU MUST RECEIVE THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE THE BIBLE WAY.
Romans 10:13:
"For whosoever shall call upon the name
of the Lord shall be saved."
This last point is very important. Many churches and groups teach
that to go to heaven you must be good, or give lots of money of
take communion but all these teachings are contrary to what the
Bible says. The Bible says clear enough for a child to understand,
that to receive eternal life in heaven all we have to do is trust
Jesus and what He did on Calvary for us. The gift of eternal life
is very easy to obtain. Just like a gift that you give to a loved
one, so is the gift of God. This gift of eternal life is waiting
for you and all you have to do to receive it is to reach out and
take it through prayer.
Trust Christ as your Savior now by saying a simple prayer:
"Dear Lord, I confess I am a sinner and need to be saved. I
believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay my sin debt and offers
salvation to me as a free gift. I except this free gift of
salvation, please forgive my sins, come into my heart and save me.
I thank you for this free gift. In Jesus' name, Amen."
If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart I would love to
know about it, if you could please
e-mail
me and tell me, it would make me so happy. I prayer almost the
very same prayer 8 years ago and I have never regretted it once,
and you won't either.
