Saiyan Levels

Oozaru

Oozaru is the legendary beast said to come out only when the moon is full. In reality he was actually Goku. When ever a saiyan looks at a full moon. He or She transforms into a giant were-ape. The transformation lasts untill either the moon is destroyed or the saiyan's tail is cut off. If a saiyan loses his or her tail he or she loses this ability. Usually in this state the saiyan is very feral, but with experience comes control.

Golden Oozaru

A saiyan can reach this stage by transforming into Oozaru on the planet Plant. Goku and Vegeta were the only saiyans who were able to do this.

Super Saiyan

A saiyan transformation in which his eyes turn green and his hair erects and turns golden yellow. The first transformation is offset by rage. The saiyan gets so angry that he pushes his powerlevel up past his limits. Goku, Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Brolly, Future Trunks, Vegeta, and fused warriors, Vegetto, Gogeta, and Gotenks were the only saiyans to reach this level.

Ultra Super Saiyan

This transformation sacrifices speed for power, by pushing his powerlevel to the max a super saiyan can reach this stage. In the series they called themselves Ascended Super Saiyans, but since that can't be abrreviated, on this site I'll use Ultra Super Saiyan instead. Vegeta, Future Trunks, Goku, and Gohan all reached this level while training in the hyperbolic time chamber.

Super Saiyan 2

In this transformation the hair becomes more jagged. Only three saiyans were able to reach this stage of power. Gohan reached this level during the Cell Games, and Goku and Vegeta reached this level while training during the seven years of peace.

Super Saiyan 3

In this transformation the hair becomes much longer and the eyebrows vanish. The muscle mass also greatly increases. Only two saiyans were ever able to reach this level. Goku, who reached while training during the seven years of peace, and the fused warrior Gotenks, he reached it while training in the hyperbolic time chamber.
