Pond Feature

Vision Splendid

Much to our surprise, our Rhododenrons seem to grow happily in this coastal environment. This specimen was waiting for us when we arrived, but was looking jaded and tired. It has responded to our feeding and this year is a mass of blooms.

Trickling Water

Although we inherited a pond, we recently had it resurfaced and have added more waterlilies and aerating plants, along with the water fountain. This area is close to the back patio and the sounds of trickling water are so calming and welcome. A weeping Birch tree gives some of the shade-loving plants an ideal place to thrive.

Little People

Several years ago we found our lavender miss. Her height is under 2 feet and when her area was first established, (it used to be lawn and looked so boring!) little lavender miss seemed to dominate the small lavenders. How quickly that area has grown and soon it will be time to trim back the bushes after they've finished flowering.

Contentedly she sits amongst the lavender bushes, with her ankles crossed so demurely! Behind her are diosma bushes, "waterlily" camellias, luculias, and that area is partially shaded by a weeping cherry tree, whilst along the fence is a jasmine creeper. Further down is an ideal place for one of our larger rhododendrons and a small collection of aquilegias.
