TO YOU TODAY
1. Repent of your rebellion (that is what sin is) toward the only
true and living God. God says "all have sinned and come short of
the glory of God". (Romans 3:23). Unless you repent you shall...perish.
(Luke 13:3,5) Agree with Him, tell him you deserve hell, but that
you are asking for forgiveness and mercy. If you don't feel sorry
for your sins ask God to help you to know your heart and to know the truth
about you and your attitude toward him and your sins. I give you
my word He will show you if you ask, really wanting to know.
2. Acknowledge that God accepts the shed blood of the Lord Jesus
Christ as payment for your sins. (Christ died for your sins).
I Peter 1:18,19.
3. Turn from your wicked way, ask God to forgive you (save you), rescue you from the grasp of satan.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
(Romans 10:13)
4. Thank Him for forgiving you for your sin. His Word is
faithful and true. If you did what He said (acknowledge Christ, confess,
repent) then He will do His part (save you, deliver you from
hell, satan, and the power sin had over you)
After you are saved you need to be baptized.
This is in obedience to God's Word, and will witness to the world
what has happened to you and to say that you were dead in sin (baptism
pictures burial of the old dead self) and are resurrected by the power
of the Holy Spirit into newness of life. (coming up out of the baptismal
waters pictures being raised up in newness of life, leaving the old stinking
dead self behind, buried.) Since Baptism pictures death and
resurrection, immersion into water is the proper way to be baptized.
Did you ever see a dead person buried by dipping a cup of dirt over them,
or sprinkling a few grains of dirt over them? No, they are put down into
the grave and at the resurrection day will come up out of the grave.
Just remember, once you die it is too late to change your mind.
Heaven and Hell each last for eternity. Where had you rather spend
your eternity? If you don't give your heart to God, satan has you by default.
