The first scene of Disc 2 occurs in the town of Winhill. You are once again controlling Laguna. (Kiros and Ward are not here). Laguna is in citizen clothes and it's been over a year since the last scene he was in. Laguna's niece Ellone comes in and tells Laguna to come to the pub, there is someone to see him. Winhill is full of monsters, but no hard battles. When you get next door, Kiros greets you and fills you in on what happend in the last year. Kiros and Ward also quit the army. Ward is now a prison janitor, and he never regained his voice. Julia married General Caraway and her singing career took off. You now have to do your patrol, and Kiros will join. All you have to do is walk to the other end of town fighting monsters as you go. When you return, report to Raine. She'll get dinner ready and tells you to rest up. Return to your room and go to sleep.

The sequence ends, as Zell, Selphie, Quistis, and Rinoa are in jail. Squall and Irvine are nowhere in sight. For now you are in control of Zell. Squall is currently being tortured by Seifer. All of SeeDs weapons have been taken. Only Zell still has his fists. He breaks out of the jail and go to the 8th floor, beat up the soldiers and retrieve the weapons. Returning to the jail, everyone is armed and ready to battle Biggs & Wedge.

Biggs & Wedge: Too easy. Between then they have 3300HP, but 2-3 GF attacks will be plenty. Draw Regan from Biggs, as this is a good spell to have.

The alarm will sound, just keep going up the stairs. Go in the unlocked cells to find save & draw points, and card players. When you get to the top, the creature will unlock the room where Squall is. Here, Zell will leave and Squall will rejoin. Zell will get you to the bottom where the exit is, but it is blocked because the prison is underground. So you must go back up, but Zell's in trouble. He'll have to battle on his own again until Squall saves him. From the other end, Irvine will appear with Rinoa. Now split into 2 groups. Squall's group goes to the top to use the elevator, and Irvine's group heads down to get up.

As Squall's group heads up and outside, a big battle takes place. No problem, GF's should be able to handle it. Go back inside and talk to Irvine over the intercom. After releasing the lever, go back outside and head to the other structure. The submerge system will turn on. Just keep going right. (Going left will result in GAME OVER). Everyone reunites and takes the cars to the desert.

The party will split again. Squall's team will head to Balamb to warn the students. Selphie's team will go to the Missile Base and try to destroy it.
