(Marsha Collins, EFMP Manager, 545-7517)
·
The ACS Exceptional Family
Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program for special needs
family members. Enrollment in the program does not hurt a Soldier’s career,
but assists military personnel divisions in considering the medical and
educational special needs of the family member in the assignment process.
Enrollment is necessary if the Soldier’s spouse or child meets the
following: Asthma, Mental health diagnosis, High-risk pregnancies, Cancer,
Attention Deficit Disorder, Heart Conditions, Diabetes, a medical condition
requiring a specialist (above the level of a Family Practice doctor), a
child with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Individual Family Support
Plan (IFSP).
·
Program enrollment allows Army personnel to consider the
documented medical and special education needs of family members in the
assignment process. When possible, Soldiers are assigned to an area where
the medical and special education needs of exceptional family members can be
met.
·
Individual Education Plan Workshop (IEP) will be Tuesday,
