1657 - Nathaniel was chosen, December 16, 1657, one of the Committee of the East India Company. He signed a memorial to Oliver Cromwell for protection of Company's ships, which was answered by him November 6, 1657. He was chosen as President of East India Company 1657/8
1658 - On April 17, 1658 he was elected the first President of all India, it having been divided into four presidencies. His portrait, said to have been painted by Sir Peter Lely, is in the possession of T. E. Wyche, of London, Esq.
