Broken Shield Within
Tears
fill my eyes, threating to overflow
Bad
decisions and bad memories swirl in my head.
This
life full of pain, anger, and nothing but hate
is
threating to take control again.
Why
must I feel this way, so unstable inside.
My
heart pounds, my knees quake
and
my throat fills with cries.
I try
so hard to with hold my tears,
not
wishing to give you exactly what you want.
You
long to strike at me, to make me cry,
but I
don't want you to see my weakness.
I put
up a strong front, a tough sheild,
but
deep inside, my heart is shattered.
Its
broken beyond repair, it'll never be whole again.
And
all this makes you glad. Brings you smiles,
Gives
you total joy and me complete pain.
