"If you touch me once more I will rip your fingers off of your hand and shove them down
your throat." Said Isaac to his brother, Zachary.
"Don't overreact you dork." replied a sweaty, overbaring Zac.
"No...I'm not overreacting," Ike cried. "I'm underreacting. You have been poking me for almost an
hour. I mean it. Stay off of me, or I'll make it so you'll never touch me again."
Zac shook his head. It seemed that neither of his older brothers wanted him around
lately. He understood that they were under alot of stress. They were over worked, over booked,
and they definitly were not getting enough sleep, But hey, he experianced all of that and he was
still happy. Oh well, he thought, They were suffering due to their own crabbiness.
He watched his older brothers, who both wore similar frowns in whatever they did. Isaac
sat, with his brown eyes shut, leaning against the back of his ariplane chair, while Taylor sat
reading a People magazine, with the Counting Crows in his discman. Zac could hear the
pounding bass of Mr. Jones. He shook his head and stood up to go to the bathroom, all the
while thinking about how nice it would be to be home again and see all his friends.
Lucy stood in front of the bathroom mirror. "Jeez Lucy..." She said to herself, "get a grip." She ran the straightener through her hair again and again, trying to tame the slight curl to a dull wave at best. With her mind somewhere else, she ran the brush through her hair, and started in on her face with cover-up.
All she could think about was the last time the guys were home. She still saw the memory of the plane leaving the Tulsa International Airport. It had been forever since she'd seen them, or so it felt. Summer was only three months behind her, but it felt like an eternity ago.
Putting the final touches on her eyes, she finished up in the bathroom just as the doorbell rang. "That's my ride!" She bellowed to her minister father and shot out the door before he could start a game of 20 questions.
Walker popped another scottish mint into his mouth, and passed the bag to Isaac, who barely glanced up out of his Sherlock Holmes book. "Thanx Dad." He mumbled, taking a mint and handing the bag to the brother to his left.
Zac gazed out the window, unfazed by Taylors whining. Sucking on a mint, his eyes met Tulsa, and slowly but surely, the plane found it's way to the landing pad.
Joining the other passengers, Walker stood up, and started to grab the overhead
luggage. Then, after waiting for his sons to sign a few autographs, they made their way to the
front of the plane.
"Home!" Ike exclaimed as they passed through the corridor.
Lucy's heart skipped a beat, as she ran back over to Diana. "The plane is unboarding!" She exclaimed, as they made their way to gate 108. She was always so happy when her friends came home, it was a running gag that she missed them more then their own mother. She hadn't slept in days, overtaken by the anticipation of Ike, Tay and Zac finally coming home. They had a concert tomorrow night, and Lucy had front row seats for it, of course, she didn't need them, because she had a V.I.P pass. Nevertheless, she was taking her cousin from Virginia to the Hanson concert.
The cool thing about that was, her cousin, Amy, had no idea that Lucy knew Hanson in any way, she definitly didn't expect her to be classified as one of their best friends. So, Lucy was gonna surprise Amy with a backstage pass.
Lucy's face lit up at first glance of blond hair, and out of the corridor came Isaac, Walker, Zac, and Taylor. Ike and Walker embraced Diana, as Zacky dropped everything to hug his siblings, but Zoe and Lucy were greeted by a red-faced Taylor.
Tay walked over, and hugged Lucy, then took Zoe out of her arms. "God," He said, "I missed you guys soooo much!"
Lucy smiled, and gave Ike, who had come over, a big bear hug. "How was the plane
ride?" She asked, rocking in Isaac's arms.
"Good..." Isaac answered, noticing a glare from Taylor. "Tay's ears went, but it was good
other then that."
After everyone had said hello, and I love you, the group of Hansons left the building, along with Lucy, and piled into the van.
"Lucy?" He yelled from the ground, "You up there?" Not waiting for a reply, he began to
climb the rope. She continued to measure, untill he was inside, then she stood up, and without
looking at him for any more then 30 seconds, she gave him the biggest hug ever.
"Thanks." He said, watching her sit back down on the floor. "I love what you've done with
the place."
She smiled. Last time Taylor was in the treehouse, there was a few sleeping bags, His
old keyboard, and an old fridge. Now, she had two beanbag chairs, the sleeping bags, a small
cot, the fridge, the keyboard, and a table she had made, with a flashlight on it. Not to mention
one of her fathers guitars.
Taylor sat on the red beanbag chair in the corner, by the window. He payed close
attention to the look of concentration on Lucy's face. He studied her green eyes as they darted
from one part of the curtain to the other. He noted the beauty that she had become over the
course of the last year. Whenever he was home, he barely took the time to even notice Lucy's
looks. Now, all of the sudden, she was beautiful.
"Taylor?! Lucy?!" Zac yelled from the ground level, "Woof...Woof...I know you're up
here!!"
He began climbing the rope, barking and growling all the way. Taylor pulled his eyes off
of Lucy, who folded up her curtain plans, and put them on the table. "Hello Zackypie."She said,
kissing him on the forehead as he growled. Isaac then pulled himself up the rope, and entered
this scene, while humming a new tune for a ballad.
"ahhhh..." He sighed, "The minister's trusty guitar!"
