David and Marsha Grady Family
Our McKENZIE Family

Marsha's third great-grandmother was Nancy Mae MCKENZIE. Nancy was born about 1840 in Georgia, the daughter of Phillip MCKENZIE and Elizabeth WILDER. Phillip MCKENZIE was born about 1800, possibly in Georgia; Elizabeth WILDER was born about 1801 in Jones County, Georgia. Phillip and Elizabeth MCKENZIE were in Georgia for most of the early 1800's, but had moved to Monroe County, Alabama, sometime between the 1840 and 1850 Federal Censuses.

Phillip MCKENZIE died between 1851-1860, and his widow, Elizabeth, appears in the 1860 and 1870 Federal Censuses for Monroe County, Alabama, in the household of her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Isaac HELTON.

On 28 March 1858, Nancy Mae MCKENZIE married Isaac M. HELTON in the home of George S. Bradley in Monroe County, Alabama. For more information on Nancy and Isaac's family, see Marsha's HELTON Page.

Nancy Mae McKenzie died sometime between 1861 and 1900.
