To me the most influential evidence of Jesus as Messiah and Savior is the experiential aspect. People and their lives are changed when they accept Jesus into their lives. How can a mere collection of ancient stories do this? They don't! The gospel is the Holy Spirit's invitation... once we accept it and embrace it we are changed into a new creation in Jesus' name through the Spirit.

In the New Testament we see this most vivdly in the transformation of Christ's Apostles. Immediately after the crucifixtion they were scared, disillusioned, confused and disappointed. They scattered, ran off, returned to their lives trying to understand what went "wrong". Then, at Pentecost, Christ breathed out on them the Holy Spirit... instantly they were transformed. They spoke in foreign tongues, they spoke with authority, courage and wisdom. They performed many miracles in Jesus' name. They evangelized the known world and died as martyrs in Christ's name. Wow!
