Show details:
Attended With: Jon Duey. First time I'd ever attended a show with him, he bailed me out.
Venue: The Jewish Mother, Virginia Beach, VA.
Opening Act: Some jazz band, that had a trombone player.
Highlights: Right when MGS stepped into the first song, I fell in love. The raw SOUND that band generates just bum rushed me, combined with everyone in the band having wicked chops, and it was what I'd been looking for: modern jazz that just grooves. Th set was long, and full of album tracks and standards. The other highlight was talking to JC the sax player during the set break, and realizing that he remembered who I was from AGR gigs in Va. Beach. It was cool knowing that one of my heros knows who I am.
Lowlights: None. Seriously, none.
