Half a Show.
Home | Back to '02

Show details:

Attended With: Rusty, Pat, Rachel, and all sorts of various Elon people.

Venue: Young Commons, Elon University.

Opening Act: The Elon University Jazz Chorus. We missed them, but I don't think I really missed them, if you know what I mean.

Highlights: Virginia Coalition did more than steal the show. I don't remember the setlist exactly, but I remember it being full of energy, funky as hell, and highly enjoyable. Pat and I danced all over the place. I remember Handcuffs, Walk to Work, and the ever-present 80s cover "Africa." I also remember sipping Everclear laced lemonade preshow, the free frisbees, talking to Lindsay for a bit, and the girl who was getting the piggyback ride, whose ass was hanging out.

Lowlights: Jump, Little Children. They weren't necessarily as bad as much as they just didn't have the energy to carry headlining this show. They would have been a perfect band to get people situated, relaxed, and settled, and then VaCo would come out and rock the night away. J, LC seemed like melodramatic rock, and it just didn't fit.
