Illinois 35 is the shortest state highway in Illinois, running in the state's far northwestern tip. It begins at US20 at East Dubuque and runs north to join up with Wisconsin Hwy 35. This route is like Illinois Route 136 in that it is a tiny route that connects to a route in another state that carries the other state route's number so travelers will think of the Illinois route and the other state's route as the same highway.

It passes through East Dubuque and no other towns.
