Chapters 46-50

**Chapter 46**

A half an hour later, I was in the midst of writing a letter to my pen pal when the doorbell. I stopped writing the letter, got off of my bed and went to answer the door. I saw Nadine standing outside the door. Nadine was wearing a pair of blue jean shorts, a royal blue tank-top, and a pair of gym shoes. “Hey Nadine,” I said as I pulled open the door to let her in. “Hey Brianna,” Nadine replied. “Ready to get to work you two?” Annaliese asked as she entered the room. “Yes, we are Annaliese,” I replied as we headed to my room to work on what was left in there. We walked into my room and I put on some music for the three of us to listen to while we worked in my room. We were going to do what we did yesterday. We picked up where we had left off yesterday, which was we had been packing up my special belongings, like books and such. We continued to pack them according to size, with the biggest on bottom and the smallest on top. After we had filled a box, we taped it shut and labeled it so that I would know what would be in the box. We had filled numerous boxes already and it seemed that I still had a lot more stuff than I thought I did. We finished with my stuff that was in my room, except for my clothes, which would be the last stuff that we started to pack up. We went downstairs to pack up what was downstairs that I was planning on taking with me, which I had no clue what it was just yet.

**Chapter 47**

We had started and finished packing everything that was in the basement that I wanted to take with me in no time at all. We started before lunch and we were able to finish before lunch. After we had totally finished, we counted all the boxes that were done so far, so that Harold Jr. Would have some sort of clue as to what size U-Haul truck we would need to take all of this stuff to the house. After we had counted the boxes, we came up with 30 boxes and a bunch of my things weren’t even packed up yet. We figured at least another 10 boxes if not more. I mean, we still had to pack up all of my clothes and also my collections, my purses, my big CD player, CDs, and accessories that go long with all that stuff. After we had figured it out, we decided to break for lunch, so Annaliese, Nadine, and I went upstairs to get some food to eat. We walked into the kitchen and as I was about to start looking through the fridge to see what he had to eat, the phone rang. I picked it up and said, “Hello.” “Hey sweetheart,” the person on the other end said. “Hey Justy, how are you feeling?” I asked. “Better than I was. The pain has lessened a great deal since the accident.” He replied. “That is great to know. How are the others doing?” I asked out of curiosity. “Lance is doing good, he is doing exactly what the doctors told him to and he is on pain medication so he has been sleeping a lot. Joey is doing good, but he wants out of the hospital, which won’t happen for at least another week. There is no change with Chris or JC though. They are both still unconscious and the doctors have no clue on when or if they will wake up.” Justin replied. “I am sorry to hear that,” I replied. “It is ok, I guess it was just something that was supposed to happen.” Justin answered back. We continued our conversation, until Annaliese said I had to get off to finish packing my stuff, since we were leaving tomorrow morning. We said our good-byes and hung up.

**Chapter 48**

By the time dinnertime came around, we had actually accomplished everything that had to be done. All the stuff that I was taking with me was boxed up and had been put in either the moving van or the van Annaliese and Jeffery owned. I had clothes set out for tomorrow and the stuff that I was wearing today and tonight to bed and so forth would be put into bags in the morning before we hit the road. Some of us changed into other clothes to eat, but I didn’t because I liked what I was wearing and I was very comfortable in it. We went into the kitchen to grab some of the pizza that had just been delivered and that is when it hit me. I realized that tonight would be the last night I would be with Nadine for awhile. I knew that she probably would not be able to come and visit me during the school year, but at least, she could probably come and visit during the summer break. I sat quietly and ate my dinner as everyone talked animatedly around me. My brother walked over and motioned for me to follow him, so I got up and followed him into another room. “Brianna, what’s wrong?” Harold asked me. “Harold, it just isn’t fair. I am not done with school this year and I am leaving my best friend here as I move away.” I said with my voice cracking as I got close to tears. “It is ok, it will all work out in the end, just wait and see,” he said as he pulled me into a hug. After he let me out of his embrace, we went and finished eating before we got ready for bed. As soon as I was done eating, I went and took a shower and then got ready for bed and went to sleep.

**Chapter 49**

The next morning, we were all up early. I was actually the last one to get up this morning, which surprised me. Jeffery is usually the last one to get up whenever he doesn’t have to go to work. I got up and walked blurry-eyed into the kitchen. “Good morning Brianna,” my brother Harold said as I enter. “Mornin’ bro,” I replied as I took a seat at the table. Annaliese handed me a drink, knowing that I would want something to drink like I did every morning. “Thanks Annaliese.” I responded. “Welcome Brianna dear.” Annaliese responded. Annaliese fixed me something to eat, because she knew that we would need to get ready as soon as possible because it would be a very long day drive to get to Kentucky. I ate my breakfast quickly and then I went back to my bedroom to get dressed to go. I pulled on my baby blue tank top and my drawstring shorts. I then slipped on my slides onto my feet. I braided my hair into two braided pigtails and planted my sunglasses on top of my head. I put on my normal jewelry and finished packing up stuff into my two backpacks that were going to be with me in the car. “You ready Brianna?” I heard my father calling to me. “Yes dad, I am already to go now.” I responded as I walked out of my now barren bedroom with my two backpacks. I joined my brother and my father as we walked out of the house and I said I’ll see you guys when we get to the house to my father and brother before I climbed into the van with Jeffery and Annaliese. My father and my brother climbed into the moving van. They pulled out first and then we pulled out, following them.

**Chapter 50**

About half-way through our trip, Jeffery spoke to my dad through the CB-Radio and they both decided that they needed gas and they decided that we should grab something to eat when we stopped as well. So we stopped at a gas station that had a McDonald’s attached to it. Jeffery and my father filled up the tanks while Annaliese, my brother Harold, and I went inside and ordered food for the five of us. After they had filled up and moved the van and the U-Haul, they came in and sat down with us to eat. We ate quickly, because we all wanted to get to the house as soon as possible. We were almost there at least. After we had finished eating, we tossed our trash and used the bathroom before getting back into the vehicles and getting back on the road. We quickly used the bathrooms and then hurried outside to the vehicles. My dad said that we would probably be there in no more than 4 hours, if that. I was happy and smiled at that news because I couldn’t wait to see my brother again. We climbed into the vans and before we knew it, we were back on the road, heading towards the house. I popped my headphones back on my head and turned my portable disc man after popping my Backstreet Boys cd into it. I grabbed my book and continued to read it as we continued to the house.
