My Non-Human Children

Alright, so they couldn't ask for anything from Santa.  So what?  Who you have here are Monty (the little python Mrs. Claus is holding) Merlin (the bigger one Santa's got) and Dax (the cat).  Mim (our third python) was at home with pneumonia that day.

This is Dax.  His full name is Dax the Sexy Man Cat, but he has been known to travel under the alias of "Fat Foo."  Not particularly intimidating, quite gay, and has a real thing for feet and clean laundry (I know, bad combination!).  Dax has moved in up here at Cal (to chase mice, actually) and just got his claws out in preparation for the coming baby.

We've got Monty and Merlin again here (Mim was in a separate cage due to her illness at the time).  Monty is a little over two years old, and almost three feet long now.  Merlin (the one drinking) is about 15 years old and roughly four feet long.  Mim is almost 18 years old and is about five and a half feet long.  They eat rats/mice and are really nice pets, despite what you're thinking.

Here's Merlin and Mim out on one of our picnics.  We let 'em go in the gras so they can play a little bit and chase squirrels.  They've been sharing a cage Merlin's whole life, and still I have no grand-snakies.  Maybe he's gay too?

And lastly we have (or rather, had) Havoc.  An aptly named cat, she's from the same litter as Dax.  Can you guess who her favorite human is?  She got into a brawl with several coyotes, and though her "Crouching Tiger, Hidden House Car" skills removed a few ears, she became lunch.  Her doting daddy wrote "Rest in Piece" on her grave, since we only found one piece to bury.

This is Merlin with some coloration work done on him.  He's easily the most docile of all my snakes, and seems to like being andled and photoraphed.
