The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life was started at The Homewood with a pen and ink drawing. It was fleshed out my first week home with acrylic golden leaves. I had the feeling while I was painting the leaves that each one was representative of the people who had entered my life and left a footprint on my heart. People who God had sent to me in order that I may better get to know Him and perhaps, show me new ways of relating to Him and relating for Him.

The golden grass was added after the watercolour and the sky. I thought it was the final touch of the painting. My husband looked at it and suggested that I add a split rail fence. Thus, the painting became a finished product.

Should any of these painting appeal to you please feel free to email me for a digital representation of them. You are free to use them for your personal use, however should you use one on a webpage, I would like to know about it so I can provide a link to your pages.

Lilac Sky

This is one of my newer paintings. I walked out one morning and the sky was almost a lilac colour. I went in and tried to find that hue. It was late spring and the leaves were not completely out on the trees. There are only three paintings I have done where I have tried to recreate something I had seen. All the rest of them are whatever happens in the process of creating them.
