Red Lobster Biscuits
2 cups bisquick
2/3 cups milk
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Preheat oven to 450. Combine bisquick, milk and cheese
until
it makes a soft dough. Drop by teaspoon on a greased cookie
sheet.
Bake 10-12 min until brown. Brush with melted butter
and sprinkle with garlic.
Whole Wheat Bread
3 to 3 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/3 c packed brown sugar
3 Tbs. shortening, margarine, or butter
2 c whole wheat flour
1 3/4 c water
1 tsp. salt
Combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and the yeast.
Heat and stir brown
sugar, shortening, water and
salt until warm and shortening almost melts.
Add to Flour mixture.
Beat with an electric mixer on low speed for 30
sec,
scraping bowl constantly.Beat on high speed for 3 minutes.
Using a spoon, stir in whole wheat flour and as much
remaining all-purpose flour as you can.Turn out onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead in enough remaining all-purpose to make
moderately stiff dough that
is smooth and elastic(6 to 8 min total). Shape into a ball.
Place in a lightly greased bowl turn once. Cover: let rise in
a warm place till double. About 1 to 1 1/2hours.Punch dough down.Turn out onto a lightly
floured surface. Divide in half. Cover and let rise 10 min. Lightly grease
two 8x4x2-inch loaves pans.Shape each half of dough into a loaf. Place in
pans. Cover, let rise in a warm place till nearly double.
About 45 to 60 minutes.
Bake in a 375 oven for 40-45 minute or till done.
Cover loosely with
foil for last 10 to 20 minutes,
if necessary. Remove from pans; cool.
Makes 2 loaves.
Honey and Whole Wheat Bread
Prepare as above, except reduce water to 1 1/2 cups and omit brown
sugar. Add 1/3 honey or molasses to saucepan.
My niece’s first grade teacher, Mrs. Lex made this for her class at
school and she ask for the recipe. It's also called Little Red
Hen Whole Wheat Bread
Bread
1 pkg yeast
1 1/4 cups water, warm
2 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
3 cups flour
Dissolve yeast in warm water.Add honey,
butter, salt and 2 cups of flour
with mixer.
Mix well. Then with wooden spoon, add
1 cup flour.
Transfer to bowl sprayed with pam.Cover
with towel and let rise, about 1 hour.
After it has rised, take wooden spoon and
poke down about 30 strokes.
Transfer to
bread pan sprayed with pam.
Bake at 375 for about 25-30 minutes.
This recipe is real good and can be made with
a mixer verus having to knead the dough.
My sister sent this recipe to me.
Sourdough Starter
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 cups warm water
1/2 cup potatoes flakes
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. salt
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water, Then add remaining
ingredients.
Let set out all night or all day. Put in refrigerator feed every 3
to 5 days to keep active.
Sourdough Bread
1 cup starter
1/2 cup oil
1/2 sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup water
6 cups bread flour
Mix all of the bread ingredients together;
Put in a greased bowl and set out all night with a towel covering it.
With about 1 cup of flour on board knead dough until there are no bubbles .
Divide into 3 loafs and put into greased loaf pans. Let rise all day .
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.
Feed Starter every 3 to 5 days.
3/4 cup sugar
3 tsp. potato flakes
1 cup warm water
When you feed starter let set out in warm place for 8 or 9 hours.
(Note if you want to make more bread you can divide the starter and feed
both.
If you have to much give some away or pour enough so you can feed it. I keep mime in a
quart canning jar.)Ihave made this bread many
many time and also made different kinds of breads and rolls with this.
WILL Add the recipes at a later date.Still working on adding more.
The starter keeps good and is the best one I have find.
Caramel Rolls
If so desired take 1/2 of bread dough and roll out to 1/2 inch
thickness ,
spread with softened margine , cover with brown sugar and
pecans pieces.
Roll up into a roll and slice in 1 inch pieces. Place in a 9x13
pan which you have covered the bottom with 1/2 cup of melted margine
and 1 cup of brown sugar.
Let rise until doubled in size. Bake at 400 degrees
for about 1/2 hour.
Turn out on waxed paper upside down. Theses are great!!!! And not fatting at all.
LOL!!!
Sour Dough Coffee Cake
1 cup oil
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups self-rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sugar
2 cups sour dough starter
2 eggs
Pour into a well greased 9x13 pan.
Topping
Mix 1 cup of brown sugar, with 1/2 cup butter 1 cup chopped nuts.
Sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
Monkey Bread
1tsp.cinnamon
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 cans biscuits(10 ct. cans)
Shake together 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar.
Pour into a round Bundt pan or any pan baking pan.
Quarter biscuits; place on top of sugar mixture.
Melt together
1 stick of butter and brown sugar.
Pour on top of biscuits.
Bake at 350 degrees until biscuits are done.
Cool sightly;
may invert onto a serving plate or serve from pan.
I love this bread and kids love it too. Naturally cause it’s sweet.
Sunday Yeast Rolls
1pkg. dry yeast
1 cup water, warm
1/2 cup cooking oil
4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
Dissolve yeast in small amount of warm water.
In large mixing bowl;
add all remaining ingredients and mix well.
Cover and let stand 8 hours or
overnight.
.Turn out onto floured board and knead lightly.
Roll out to 1/2
inch thickness and cut into rolls.
Place rolls on greased cookie sheet and let
rise 4 to 6 hours.
Bake in pre-heated oven at 400 degrees for 10 to 12
minutes or until golden brown.
(Note cut theses like you would biscuit.)
