            BILL
His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in
it,jeans, and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire
four years of college. He is brilliant. Kind of esoteric and very, very
bright. He became a Christian while attending college.
`
Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative
church. They want to develop a ministry to the students, but are not
sure how to go about it.
`
One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his
T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started and so Bill
starts down the aisle looking for a seat. The church is completely
packed and he can't find a seat. By now, people are really looking a bit
uncomfortable, but no one says anything.
`
Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and when he
realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet.
(Although perfectly acceptable behavior at a college fellowship, trust
me, this had never happened in this church before!) By now the people
are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick.
`
About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the
church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill. Now the deacon is
in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a three-piece suit. A godly
man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane
and, as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to
themselves that you can't blame him for what he's going to do. How can
you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some
college kid on the floor?
`
It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy. The church is utterly
silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused
on him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The minister can't even
preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to do.
`
And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great
difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships
with him so he won't be alone. Everyone chokes up with emotion. When the
minister gains control, he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will
never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget.

"Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some people will
ever read".

In light of the many perversions and jokes we send along emails to one another for a laugh, this is a little different:
Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "Howcould God let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11 ). Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.
She said*G*: "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out.
How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"
In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools. We said OK.
Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school ... the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.
Then someone said teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave. The school administrators said no faculty member in this school better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued(there's a big difference between disciplining, touching, beating, smacking, humiliating, kicking,etc.). And we said OK.
Then someone said, let's let our daughters have abortions if they want, and they won't even have to tell their parents. And we said OK.
Then some wise school board member said, since boys will be boys and they're going to do it anyway, let's give our sons all the condoms they want so they can have all the fun they desire, and we won't have to tell their parents they got them at school. And we said OK.
Then some of our top elected officials said it doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs. Agreeing with them, we said it doesn't matter to me what anyone, including the President, does in private as long as I have a job and the economy is good.

Then someone said let's print magazines with pictures of nude women and call it wholesome, down-to-earth appreciation for the beauty of the female body. And we said OK.
And then someone else took that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children and then further again by making them available on the Internet. And we said OK, they're entitled to free speech.
Then the entertainment industry said, let's make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence, and illicit sex. Let's record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes. And we said it's just entertainment, it has no adverse effect, nobody takes it
seriously anyway, so go right ahead.
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out.I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.
Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.
Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.
                     Are you laughing?
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they WILL think of you for sending it. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.
Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in OR say, "God aint done nothing for ME"
.
Thanks Charlotte

Making Resolutions
On New Years Eve I was trying to think of a resolution I could make. I pondered for a long time. I was trying to think of something I could really stick to. I finally decided what I could do for a resolution.
It was there all the time. Something I always do anyhow. I just prayed and asked the Lord to let me just let Him put all my bad habits, problems and any other things in HIS Hands  to HIM handle it. I can't do it by myself for sure. Jesus is the one that will take my everyday problems or my bad habits and help me correct them.
So many people make resolutions just to break them when they already know that they can't stick to it. We all know our faults and bad habits and things we should correct already. Why haven't we already tried to correct these faults before the New Year came ? Why have we lingered in these things when we already knew that our faults were making our lives miserable ?
I think the  best resolution to make is to leave it in the Hands of Jesus and let Him make all our resolutions for us. Why can't we just leave it up to Jesus to decide what things we need to change in our lives and settle for that ? Let Him make our resolutions for us. I grant you that you will feel better about it and won't be trying to change things to better yourself and fail. If we just leave it in the Hands of Jesus, we will do a much better job at the way our lifestyles is handled.

Preventing computer viruses and worms
More than 12 million users worldwide are protected by Trend anti-virus technology. Trend maintains the Antivirus Support Center at http://www.antivirus.com/default.asp, the most comprehensive on-line source of computer virus information.
In the real world, we worry about anthrax or smallpox. These bacteria and viruses can potentially kill millions of people and it's difficult to defend against them.

In the cyberworld of computers and the Internet, there are also infectious agents that can cause great harm and that are difficult to defend against. Last year, according to a research firm in California, Computer Economics, worms and viruses cost us more than $17 billion.

This figure includes the costs associated with cleaning malicious computer codes from networks, servers and clients. It also includes the costs of restoring lost or damaged files, plus lost productivity.

No one knows what the future holds, but if malicious individuals can cause billions of dollars in damage to our information systems, how much harm could state-sponsored cyber-terrorists cause?

There is some good news in all of this, though. Bill Arbaugh, a West Point graduate who now teaches at the University of Maryland, believes that the vast majority of computer viruses and worms can be prevented if each of us practices good computer security.

But first, what are computer worms and viruses?

A computer virus is a program that copies itself into other programs - it's similar to the way biological viruses invade a host's cells. The computer virus becomes active when you click on the program.

Typically, a virus would come into your computer as an e-mail attachment, probably as an executable file. That is, the attachment would have the letters ".exe"

or ".com" or ".vbs." Alternatively, your computer could become infected when you visit a maliciously-designed Web page.

If you have a virus, when you open its file it executes a program that can do such things as erase your files or lock up your system. One way it can propagate is by going to your address book and then using your computer to mail out copies of itself.

If you don't open the file, however, a virus usually doesn't harm you. A worm, however, is different.

As Arbaugh explains, "A worm is capable of self-propagation. A single execution or release of a worm can result in millions of infected hosts, whereas the single execution of a virus will only infect one host."

Worms and viruses are out there and they can do staggering economic damage. In a terrorist situation, they could do even worse. However, there are defenses.

Arbaugh's research reveals something startling: the majority of worms and viruses did their damage as much as a month after we knew how to prevent them. When the worms and viruses were doing their damage, the security holes had already been discovered and patches written to cover them.

Between the time the security vulnerabilities were discovered and the time people got around to protecting themselves, malicious code writers created damaging worms or viruses. If we had used better security practices, much of the harm that we suffered could have been prevented.

What should we do to increase our cyber security?

"The first line of defense," he says, "is run a good, well-known virus scanner and insure that it gets updated often."

Many of us have been used to updating our virus program every couple of weeks. Arbaugh updates his virus program whenever he logs onto the Internet, and that can be as often as four times a day.

The rewards for good computer safety practices are incalculable. They not only save time and aggravation, they help keep damaging programs from spreading and wreaking economic havoc.

More than 12 million users worldwide are protected by Trend anti-virus technology. Trend maintains the Antivirus Support Center at http://www.antivirus.com/default.asp, the most comprehensive on-line source of computer virus information.

When Things Seem Impossible
John 6:1-14

Think of something in your life, at this very moment, that seems impossible.         Have you run out of money? Are
you facing a severe illness? Is there a broken  relationship in need of restoration?
What are you currently doing about this situation?
Most likely you have already considered all of the ways in which you could remedy the problem on your own. Though you may feel powerless, it is at this point of frustration and exhaustion that God can work a miracle in your life.
Surely the apostles felt powerless as the crowd of Jesus’ followers continued to grow at the Sea of Galilee. They knew that no one could possibly have enough food to feed a crowd of 5,000 hungry people.
Yet, in this seemingly impossible situation, Jesus met the needs of His people. He transformed a single meal
into an overflowing feast for the masses.
Jesus satisfied the hunger of thousands with two loaves and five fishes. Do you not think that He can also perform a miracle in your life?

When you feel that your problems are unconquerable, trust in God who can use your weakness to demonstrate His perfect strength. Draw hope from His desire to prove His faithfulness in your life. God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is perfected in your
weakness. (2 Cor. 12:9)

E-Mail News
From My Received E-Mail

An Open Letter to Terrorists

I don't know your name, or names we may never know who you are, so I can't address you personally.
On Sept 11th, you killed several thousands of our friends perhaps who we knew personally, but people like us, people who worked hard to make a living, who loved someone, who was loved by someone, who worried about making a better life for their children and grandchildren, who believed in God and the American Dream, who criticized this country for its insufficiencies and cared enough to try and change things and ensure a better future, not just for us, but for the world.
People who leave behind scores of loved ones, friends, pets, neighbors, coworkers, and members of their faiths.Perhaps even people who derived from your own country and who sought refuge here.
Your act was a slaughter of the innocent. You are like an insidious cancer that strikes without warning, ravages bodies, tears families apart, and in the end can never destroy the soul. You are the ultimate coward. You may topple our buildings, collapse our communication systems, disrupt our government, crash our markets, and leave behind the carnage of bodies, but you will never destroy the soul of America. We made this country from bits and pieces of the rest of the world; we took the best, and the worst of every culture and nationality, race and creed, and made an alloy that may be dented, but not even a trial by fire can melt.
I don't know what God you believe in, or what hateful rhetoric you espouse, or what your misguided political beliefs might be that allows you to do what you did today without a fear of eternal damnation. I only know that you may win a battle or two, but you will never win this war! We have the entire history of the world on our side, and no dictator, despot, or madman has survived as long as America has thrived and prospered.
If you accomplished anything at all Sept 11th, it was a wake-up call, and we will now rise up stronger than before. You are defeated before you've even begun, there in your private hell and later in your eternal one. Someday your people may even need help, and because we are America, we would respond.
May God bless the friends we lost, their families, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. We will help them rebuild from the ashes.
May God continue to bless America, help her to protect us all, and may she continue to shine as a beacon of democracy and hope to the rest of the world.
Jim Willis

IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS
This was sent to me by a friend of mine.thought you might find it interesting.      This is an Editorial written by an American citizen, published in a local Newspaper. He did quite a job; didn't he?
    IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.

Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! "In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture. If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE. Please pass this along if you agree

.This is touching long but the truth.

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm?
On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert!

These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating,
and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice
crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers."

"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart."

"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent."

"I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy - it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. "I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today":

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.

Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body,
soul, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our
make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush
in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational
systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as
theological seminaries. This is a historical fact.

What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God,
and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something
as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs - politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws.

"Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts. Political posturing and restrictive legislation are not the answers. The young people of our nation hold the key.

There is a spiritual awakening taking place that will not be squelched! We do not need more religion. We do not need more gaudy television evangelists spewing out verbal religious garbage. We do not need more million dollar church buildings built while people with basic needs are being ignored. We do need a change of heart and a humble acknowledgment that this nation was founded on the principle of simple trust in God!"

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes-He did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain.

Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA - I give to you a sincere challenge.
Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"

Do what the media did not - - let the nation hear this man's speech.

Please send this out to everyone you can!!!
