Concept and Practice of Leadership - Leadership II

The course on the Concepts of Leadership covers one semester. It concentrates on Theory and introduces Practice as seen in Case Studies. The second part of the course continues with Practice and then expands into Business Applications. Students are encouraged to take both courses in succession for maximum benefit. The First Semester course will be in two major halves. The first half will analyze historical and contemporary concepts of leadership and it will explore the traits, strategies and techniques that define leadership. The second half will concentrate on chosen Case Histories, and apply them to actual situations in the contemporary world. The Second Semester course will build on the work done during the first half of the course (Leadership I)on the components of Leadership and their actual implementation in the real world over the course of history. The second Semester course will be divided into two main halves. The first half will continue with a certain number of new Case Histories, and apply them actual situations in the contemporary world. The second half will shift focus towards Leadership in the Business World in an era of globalisation where the private sector now plays an increasingly determinant role.
