Vegeta was one of the last Saijins alive and did Freiza's dirty work. He went to Earth in search of the Dragonballs but got beat by Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, and the "Z" Fighters. He left Earth and found out there were DragonBalls on the Namekian planet called Namek. When he reaches Namek he learns that Freiza is there also and some Earthlings. To make a long story short he went aggenst Freiza and helped Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, and Crillin fight Freiza. He died by Freiza's hands but later was brought back to life by the Dragonballs.

He is the second Saijin to turn Super Saijin, he can't stand being the weaker fighter so he is always training to be better. He isn't always the nicest or honest guy but he comes through when people need him (most the time). Later in the Dragonball Z series he teams up with Goku and the others and has a child with Bulman named Trunks.
