Support Groups :: D.C. Area

Herpes Help of Washington is the local chapter of the Herpes Resource Center, a national organization with over 100 support groups.

Herpes Help of Washington meetings are confidential and free. You do not have to give your name. We discuss medical, social and emotional issues. We meet for 90 minutes. For directions, call our recorded message at 301-369-1323.

Maryland Meetings

Our regular Bethesda meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Magnuson Clinical Center/Bldg. #10 Room 11S235 (11th Floor Conference Room), Center Drive at West Drive, Bethesda. Parking is permitted in the evening in the lots around the Clinical Center.

Directions: If driving, the only entrance to the NIH campus that is accessible to the public is Wisconsin Avenue/Rockville Pike. Stop at the security checkpoint, then proceed straight ahead to the Clinical Center. You can park in any NIH lot during the evening, even those lots marked for NIH employees only. Park in any of the nearby lots.

By Metro, go to the Medical Center stop on the Red Line. The Clinical Center is less than a 10-minute walk away.

You can obtain additional driving directions and a helpful map of the campus at the NIH website. Click on "Visitor Information." At the Clinical Center, follow signs to the Main Elevators, to Main Admissions, or to Mazur Auditorium. To get to our regular meetings, take the Main Elevators next to the Mazur Auditorium to the 11th floor. The conference room, number 11S235, is next to the elevators.

Be sure to bring a photo ID, which you will need to show at the security checkpoints. All cars are inspected at the checkpoints, so allow a few extra minutes for that.
