THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA IRISH GUIDE
                      stpat15.jpg (2894 bytes)

The San Francisco Bay Area has one of the healthiest Irish communities in the world. Excelling in entertainment, the arts, business and recreation the Irish have played a vital role in the success of this thriving region.

The expatriate population in the area is thought to be approximately 100,000 in number with several thousand more tourists, business travelers and more recently students. This year has seen record numbers of   students  enter the area making an immediate and positive impact on San Francisco life.

Traditionally the Irish abroad have been very resourceful, extremely cultured and well organized and San Francisco provides a perfect testament to this. The huge number of Irish organizations, centers, pubs and restaurants, shops and newspapers operating in the bay area is a reflection of how thriving the population is.

This web site pays homage to the ‘Paddies in the bay’ and acts as a unique ‘one stop’ resource for all Irish related activities, events and businesses in the Bay Area. It also includes useful information and links to employment sites, accommodation listings and to Irish newspapers so that you can stay in touch with home whilst enjoying your stay in the Bay.

We would like to acknowledge The Irish Herald, The Irish Abroad website and SF bay yahoo as a source of information and inspiration.  We highly recommend each of these information mediums.
