Books take me to New York,
Or lands across the seas;
I can travel anywhere,
Would you come with me?
In books, I can solve a mystery,
And save the maiden fair;
I can learn to prepare fine food,
Would you taste my wares?
In books the world is mine,
For I can learn most anything;
Like how to build a boat,
Or about the bumble bee's sting.
I can learn to speak languages,
From a far and distant land;
Or play a new instrument,
Maybe a Baby Grand.
Books are a doorway,
To life beyond our walls;
So read as many as you can,
They are there for one and all.
