A friend of mine gave me some tea,
A gift that was meant only for me;
On a day that was frosty and cold,
I fixed me some - the flavor was bold.

As the warmth flowed down my throat,
Love was there to give it a coat;
The love of God, the love of friends,
The kind of love that never ends.

God spreads His love across the land,
But all too often we don't understand;
How something as simple as a cup of tea,
Can share His love and fill one with glee.

God's love doesn't always come with a boom,
Filling every corner of a room;
Sometimes it is a very small voice,
That brings peace to us in all the noise.

When one is hurting and needs a hand,
A cup of tea can say, "I understand";
So don't look at small things with a frown,
For love can turn the world upside down.

I thank the Lord for the love He sent,
When my spirit was tired and my faith was spent;
For now I know without a doubt,
His love for me never runs out.
