My love is now in heaven,
It's where he waits for me;
We had to climb mountains here,
Before love and peace we'd see.

But even in our troubled times,
There could be happy tears;
As we watched our children grow,
They alleviated our fears.

The snow would bring us delight,
As rides made the kids squeal;
Summer brought us swimming,
Where the hot sun we could feel.

There were many bumps and bruises,
Broken bones and shattered hearts;
But we traversed the road of life,
And they were loved from the start.

Now golden memories of days gone by,
Often fill my heart and mind;
And if I were to do it over,
A better love I would not find.
