The Lonely Road

The road to heaven is often lonely,
Others don't know our faith;
They cannot seem to understand,
How we can love Jesus this way.

We try to explain how He's guided us,
Through life's disappointments and pain;
But until they accept His gift,
They won't know just what they gain.

We sometimes travel a lonely road,
When Jesus is our master;
We try to resist the sinful pleasures,
That often lead to disaster

But on this lonely road we trod,
We have found love and peace;
Our Lord loves us like no other,
He gives us a new lease.

So we will travel this lonely road,
For we want to please Our Lord;
He'll stay by us the distance,
His love in us He poured.
