My favorite recipes
Are often simple to fix;
With flour, sugar and butter,
With chips and nuts to mix.

I'm not an adventurous cook,
I prefer the simple and plain;
Of course I enjoy pasta,
And cereals made from grain.

But my favorite recipe
Has nothing to do with food;
It has all the ingredients,
For raising a child to do good.

Another favorite recipe,
I keep close to my heart;
It tells me how to love,
And make friends that don't part.

If you expected cakes or cookies,
As favorite recipes to make;
I'm afraid I'll disappoint you,
It's good children and love I bake.
